Kanye West feels that he had to fight in order to be accepted into the fashion world. When speaking to the students at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, he talked of starting off as a musician, but struggling to be let inside the fashion business.
He told the audience, “It’s a tough world out there. You’re going to prepare yourself for politics, bad bosses, hating employees – and usually when you’re the absolute best, you get hated on the most.”
He went on to say, “I’m really honored to be here tonight around so many creative people, so many dreamers. As a lot of you know, I really love fashion, and it’s been a love of mine as far back as I can remember. It’s something that I’ve always had to fight to be accepted to love, and I empathize with anyone who has ever loved fashion because it’s not like loving the idea of being a lawyer or becoming a doctor.”
He acts like it was a huge struggle because he came from nothing – when in truth, he was already a household name by the time he began trying to break into fashion.
