Break out the ice cream and sad mix tapes, because The Kardashians and Sears are FINISHED!
TMZ has learned that the Kardashians are pulling their Klassic Koveted Kardashian Kollection from Sears’ shelves because they think the big department store chain is on the outs!
Back in the days of yesteryear (2011), the The Kardashians and Sears struck a big deal for the Kardashian Kollection, which features all sorts of apparel and jewelry. For the most part, the venture was successful: according to TMZ, the Kardashian fashion empire raked in $600 million and the family got a $30 million cut.
The deal, however, ended earlier this year and the store has been selling off the remaining items and pulling merch from shelves. Sears tells TMZ the parting of ways was mutual, but our Kardashian sources say the family felt Sears wasn’t stable, having closed over 200 stores last year alone and suffering a $159 million loss in the last quarter of 2014.
We’re told the Kardashians have made a new deal with a major retailer and they will announce the partnership soon. So who’s it gonna be? Their brand has exploded in recent years, but will they keep their clothing lines in accessible stores, for all kinds of buyers, or do you think they’ll go upscale?
