As the world is now fully aware, Lindsay Lohan has a list of her famous conquests. ÃÂ However, at least one of her paramours is denying the allegation. ÃÂ (I suspect quite a few more have and will board this train). ÃÂ While speaking with LA Magazine about his new book of poetry, Directing Herbert White,ÃÂ actor, director, teacher, student, and now author, James Franco claims he should never have made the infamous list.
Franco writes about several celebrities in his book, and when asked if anyone had responded to that, he replied:
No, I didn’t write anything bad about them. And Lindsay herself has told lies about me with her people-she’s-slept-with list! So I feel like what I said is much less than what she’s said.
I believe it. ÃÂ I’m no expert on the inner workings of Lohan’s mind, nor am I her confidante, but she strikes me as someone who wrote that list for the shock value and attention alone. ÃÂ Don’t get me wrong – I’m sure there was plenty of truth to the list… I just don’t buy all of it. ÃÂ I just don’t want to buy all of it. ÃÂ Gross.
Franco also addresses the skepticism of his book due to his thespian status.
I’m an English major. I’m working on my Ph.D. in English literature, so this is something that has been a part of my life for a long time. My mother is a poet and a writer. It’s just one of my loves and I went to graduate school for it because I take it very seriously.
I know that my life as an actor obviously casts a shadow over what I’m doing with the poetry, but it allows me to get readers that maybe normally wouldn’t read a book of poetry. It also attracts skepticism and contempt prior to investigation, but I can’t think about that. It’s something I love, and if people want to judge my poetry through the lens of my acting then there’s nothing I can do about that.
Franco is kind of rad. ÃÂ He gets mocked mercilessly for all of his many interests- but it’s cool. ÃÂ He’s out there doing stuff. ÃÂ Some of it’s weird- but he’s certainly prolific and hard working.
I love these pics of Franco and Seth Rogen on the set of The Interview – due out in October. ÃÂ I need a designated umbrella holder in my life.
