In addition to her ‘conscious uncoupling’ with soon-to-be ex-husband Chris Martin, Gwyneth Paltrow has also decided to step away from acting… for now. ÃÂ In an interview with E!, Paltrow announced:
“I just finished a movie in January that I was doing at the end of last year in London with Johnny Depp and then I had two weeks here and then I did a couple of episodes forÃÂ GleeÃÂ for the 100th episode, so I have to go back to mommy.”
“I have a rule about one movie a year so I can’t shoot anything for a while but I’m developing some material and working on the site and raising kids”, she added.
I suspect Gwynnie will still have her hands full with the GOOP empire during her self-imposed hiatus. ÃÂ The New Yorker posted a conversation between Paltrow and Terry Gross about ‘conscious uncoupling’ yesterday. [As a side note – there is a serious PR campaign going on with this whole divorce. ÃÂ Way to take control of the situation honey.] ÃÂ When Gross asked about Paltrow’s good friend,ÃÂ Mario Batali’s reaction to the news of her split, she replied:
You know, Mario and I, when weââ¬â¢re together, we are all about fun. So the night I told him, I cried a little. And then we rode around the Italian countryside in a convertible. Then we bought some fresh fish. And then we made a paella, and after my second glass of Tenuta dellââ¬â¢Ornellaia Masseto Toscana I said, ââ¬ÅMario, I feel like you need to consciously uncouple from those zippered vests you wear.ââ¬ÂàAnd we laughed. And the paella tasted more wonderful than ever that night. So fresh. So new.
So… Gwyneth is a bit divisive – people seem to love or hate her. ÃÂ I personally like her, but sometimes she really doesn’t do herself any favors with her commentary. ÃÂ I mean… we don’t need to know what vintage you were drinking, or about the night you were cruising in a convertible through the Italian countryside. ÃÂ We get it. ÃÂ You’re life is indulgent and pretty awesome even through something as miserable as divorce.
