Shailene Woodley is all the rage right now, and for good reason. She’s about to appear on big screens everywhere as Tris in the first installment of the big screen Divergent adaptation, and she’s pretty much on course to become the new Jennifer Lawrence as everyone’s BFF.
While Shailene has always been a hard-working actress and remained down-to-earth thanks to her close-knit family and friends, she’s also just like the rest of us, as evidenced in a new interview with Marie Claire, in which she admits that she grew up feeling incredibly self-conscious about her skinny appearance.
“My whole life I’ve been so self-conscious about being skinny. And just recently I don’t care anymore,” Woodley told the magazine. “All insecurities are projected because of what you think others are saying about you, but they don’t really matter at all. My only real insecurities in high school were having such long legs and thick hair — things I’m so very grateful for now.”
