Heidi Klum got her hands on a box of the elusive Cronuts yesterday, and promptly flew them home to Los Angeles on a private plane. See the box seatbelted into the seat next to her?
On any given day, hundreds of New Yorker’s wait in line as early as 6:00am to get their hands on the croissant/donut hybrid by Dominique Ansel. The cronut is deep fried thin layers of croissant dough, and then filled with Tahitian vanilla cream.
“I have literally waited weeks to try one of @DominiqueAnsel’s Cronuts and it was definitely worth the wait!” wrote the 40-year-old on Twitter.
The Dominique Ansel Bakery has a two-Cronut-per-person limit on in-store purchases, but Heidi put herself on the pre-order list, which allows her to take 6 cronuts. “Heidi’s crew were first rate citizens,” Amy Ma, the press representative for Dominique Ansel Bakery, told MailOnline.
“They called two weeks in advanced for pre-orders like everyone else did, and waited fairly for them. Not to mention they were also extremely polite. We’re thrilled and grateful that Heidi enjoyed the Cronut. We’re all big fans!”
“Flying back home with a box of #cronuts for my loved ones,” she tweeted.
The Cronut actually retails for only $5, but that’s IF you can get your hands on one! There are several services set up around NYC where you can hire someone to wait in line for you – and that will only set you back around $100!
