Cleveland kidnapper Ariel Castro faces an onslaught of charges against him as a result of the decade-long kidnappings of Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry and Gina DeJesus. Their savior, Charles Ramsey has felt the sting of the aftermath of the fame that has ensued for helping the ladies. In fact, he says that he’s downright broke!
“I had a job, I was paying rent and I had no bills. I was trying to accumulate some [savings],” he explained to the Daily Mail. “Now I can’t get a job,” he says, adding he can’t hold down work due to the attention he receives.
“I’m going to try to get a job. Just give me a job. I’ll take a picture with you, fine,” he says, adding that he’d like to work in food services, perhaps as a cook. “Just pay me, that’s all. I’m borrowing money from my relatives.”
Ramsey, who became a notable name overnight this past May, also believes he was cheated out of extra funds he should have earned for helping to rescue Amanda Berry and helping police find fellow alleged victims of Ariel Castro, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight.
“The reward money is probably millions and I bought a car. Millions. A car. Think about it,” he says. “They’ve been gone 10 years, so how could the reward money just be 14 grand? I haven’t gotten it … I’m broke, bro. That’s the truth. [The $15,000 I originally received] was a private donation.”
Hopefully someone can hire this guy. It’s a shame that he hasn’t been able to get a job because of all of this. What do you think?
