Three years ago Billy Ray Cyrus filed for divorce, and then withdrew the papers after changing his mind. Looks like this time, it’s his wife Tish, who’s pulling the plug. After 19-years of marriage, Tish Cyrus has filed for divorce.

“This is a personal matter and we are working to find a resolution that is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time,” Tish tells PEOPLE in a statement.

In his own statement, Billy Ray says, “This is a personal matter and we are doing what is in the best interest of our family. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”

Tish wants primary custody of their only minor child, Noah, 13.

The pair’s 19-year marriage comes to a rocky end after the pair nearly split in 2010 when Billy Ray filed for divorce.

At the time, the couple released a joint statement, saying “We are trying to work through some personal matters. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”

But five months later, during an interview on The View, Billy Ray announced that he was withdrawing his petition.

“I want to put my family back together,” the singer, 51, said on the show.

Tish expressed her excitement about the reconciliation on her official Facebook page.

“Big thanks to all of our family, friends, and fans who have kept us in their thoughts and prayers,” she wrote. “Our family weathered a huge storm and I feel we are stronger than we have ever been.”

But there have been hints that the couple’s bond has weakened in recent months.

When asked about his relationship with Tish on May 29, Billy Ray told PEOPLE, “We’ve both been very busy in pursuit of different things we have going on. We’re taking it one day at a time.”

The pair have five children – including singer Miley Cyrus, 20.
