After releasing their first studio album in over ten years, ‘No Doubt’ was supposed to head out on a world tour. But now, Gwen Stefani, Tony Kanal, Adrian Young and Tom Dumont have announced that they are postponing their plans for a world tour in order to start working on their seventh album.

“While we were traveling the world last year promoting ‘Push And Shove,’ Gwen mentioned she was inspired to write new music,” the band wrote on its official Facebook page. “In December, around the time of our hometown shows, we discussed the idea of starting 2013 by getting back into the studio together. We did so in January and the new music started flowing with unexpected ease. After spending three years recording the last album, this new pace feels incredibly exciting.”

No Doubt’s sixth album, “Push and Shove,” was released in Sept. 2012, more than a decade after the band’s fifth album, 2001′s “Rock Steady.” While it was hard to compete with the major success of “Rock Steady,” “Push and Shove” performed well for No Doubt, debuting at number three on the Billboard 200.

In January, No Doubt stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to perform. Stefani spoke to Kimmel about the band’s plans for the future and mentioned a summer tour, but it seems fans may have to wait a little longer to see another live performance of “Hella Good.”

“We have decided to follow our muse for the time being and focus on this new music that we don’t want to stop,” No Doubt continued on Facebook. “So, we will be postponing our tour plans briefly while we endeavor to create something special and inspired. Our goal as a band is to share this new music with you as quickly as possible – both recorded and live on tour.”

No Doubt did not give fans a timeline for the next album or tour, but promised to keep send updates “with photos and videos from the studio.”

Are you bummed they’re scrapping their world tour? I’m excited they’re going to work on a new album. I actually wasn’t a fan of this last album.
