Seth MacFarlane as Oscars host – how’d he do?

Seth MacFarlane hosted the 85th Annual Oscars last night, and this morning, reviews are mixed.
MacFarlane, in my opinion, did a good enough job, although some skits seemed a bit awkward. I thought the musical theme of the night was a bit boring, if I’m being honest.
“The best moment of Seth MacFarlane’s Oscars hosting gig may have come late in the night when, in announcing Meryl Streep, he said ‘our next presenter needs no introduction’ … and then just walked away,” wrote Spencer Kornhaber for The Atlantic. “If only he’d kept his mouth shut more frequently.”
Most people thought his opening performance, singing a song called “We Saw Your Boobs” was just plain awkward and strange. William Shatner – playing James T. Kirk appears on a large TV screen, and says he’s from the future. Kirk and MacFarlane comment on how Seth did as host of the Oscars. The future William Shatner tells him he did not so great, including a song about actresses going topless in film. Seth is then seen (in the future) singing “We Saw Your Boobs,” and rambles off the list of dozens of actresses who go topless in movies.
Not everyone thought it was terribly funny. “As a fun game, count how many actresses he mentions in this song who are portraying rape victims,” wrote Vulture.

He was great and for the first time ever the Oscars weren’t boring and didn’t drag.

Was great because for the first time it was unpredictable. He had us with suspense, uncertainty, and laughter. Hope he host the Oscars next year.
