I had a dream last night that I unexpectedly got pregnant, and had triplets. Two boys and a girl. I remember being quite terrified about having not one but three more kids, and what I would do – at my age. Now, I’m only 35, mind you, but I often am so thankful that I had my children earlier on, so I had the stamina to deal with the sleepless nights. I think if I had to deal with sleepless nights and all the stress of a newborn at 35 – I might go crazy. I realize I had my children VERY young (I was 23 & 25), and I know women have children much later in life these days. More power to them. In fact, they may be on to something. I think if I would have had my kids in my 30’s I may have been more emotionally prepared for the kind of sacrifice it is to have children. Anyway – all this – and my point was…. can you imagine having your first kid at 67!? Steve Martin is 10 years older than MY DAD – and I can’t begin to fathom him having a child at this age.
Thank God for nannies, I guess.
Anyway – Steve Martin IS a new dad, because his 41-year-old wife has already given birth to their first child.
Steve Martinââ¬â¢s become a first-time dad at 67, Page Six has exclusively learned. The ââ¬ÅItââ¬â¢s Complicatedââ¬Â star and his wife, Anne Stringfield, 41, welcomed a child in December and have been spotted nearby their LA home with the bundle of joy.
ââ¬ÅTheyââ¬â¢ve had a baby, and how they kept it a secret nobody knows,ââ¬Â a source said. ââ¬ÅSteveââ¬â¢s very private.ââ¬Â
The source added, ââ¬ÅThey are thrilled. They worked hard to have the baby.ââ¬Â
The couple married in 2007 at Martinââ¬â¢s home in a surprise ceremony where guests, including Tom Hanks and Diane Keaton were told it was a party.
Martin, meanwhile, has written of his own dad: ââ¬ÅMy fatherââ¬â¢s attitude toward my show-business accomplishments was critical. After my first appearance on ââ¬ËSaturday Night Liveââ¬â¢ . . . he wrote a bad review of me in the newsletter of the Newport Board of Realtors where he was president.ââ¬Â
But Martin wrote in 2008, years after his father died, ââ¬ÅIn his death, my father . . . did something he could not do in life. He brought our family together.ââ¬Â A rep for Martin declined to comment.
Congrats to the couple….
