It’s that time of week again! Let’s talk about this week’s ‘Top Chef’ episode!! Spoilers below – so join me if you’ve seen it already! It was our first ‘Top Chef’ episode without my beloved Stefan. Sniff, sniff. After his disastrous ‘Surf N’ Turf’ dish, he was sent packing. I missed ya, Stefan… just thought you should know.

Anyway, on this week’s episode of ‘Top Chef’, the chef’s arrived in Alaska, and are greeted right away by Padma and James Beard winner Sean Brock. Josh is in awe of seeing his hero stand in front of him. Sean is known for transforming popular dishes into fresh ideas. For their Quickfire challenge, the chefs must create a fresh dish using King Crab, Alaskan gold. Sean makes a joke that he has flown 14 hours to try this dish – so make it a good one!

Guess what Josh uses with his King Crab? You got it! Bacon again! I totally understand the love of bacon, but seriously…. every dish? Anyway. Brooke makes crab infused toast, Sheldon whips up a crab soup. Lizza makes a fritatta. In the end, Sheldon takes the win AGAIN, earning him $5,000 in the meantime.

For the elimination round, the chefs must create a dish using a couple of Alaska’s treasures, salmon and sourdough. The chefs are not too pleased that they’re being required to make their own bread. Each judge is given a starter from a local bakery. They start their bread first, which must rise overnight.

The next morning they each get their pick of fresh salmon – right off the boat. They are all beyond thrilled to be getting such amazing, fresh fish.

The chefs are cooking away when tom arrives to talk with them. He asks Josh about his wife, who will be going into labor any minute. Sheldon announces he’s making a pea soup – which Tom proudly announces he’s been craving. Tom has concerns about Brooke’s ability to cook the salmon well, and gives Lizzie a thumbs up.

As the guests arrive to try the dishes, the camera pans out – and there are literally bears in the trees. It’s funny because no one seems to be too concerned with the bears, and everyone just goes on with their business.

Brooke’s salmon and bread makes everyone, including the judges, happy.  Lizzie’s bread is delicious, but her salmon doesn’t impress. Sheldon and Josh get praises for their dishes.

In the end, it was Brooke who came out on top. Not only does she move on to the next round, but she also won a trip to Costa Rica!

It looks like it could be Josh or Lizzie who will be sent packing, and in the end it is Lizzie. This makes me sad. I really loved her (and honestly, I could listen to her talk all day long).

So could Lizzie come back? Will she win the Last Chance Kitchen??Here’s
