2013 Golden Globes: ‘Argo’, ‘Girls’ and ‘Homeland’ WIN BIG!

Last night was the 2013 Golden Globes, and many people are calling the night the “best ever” Globes! I’m not sure if I think it was the BEST ever, (I still think Ricky Gervais was my favorite host) but Amy Poehler and Tina Fey WERE amazing.
The 70th Annual Globes was a big night for Ben Affleck’s ‘Argo’, ‘Girls’ and ‘Homeland’ (all my favorite things of 2012!).
It was expected to be a big night for films like “Lincoln,” “Argo” and “Django Unchained.” Those three films scored the most nominations — seven for “Lincoln,” five each for “Argo” and “Django” — ahead of other contenders like “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Les Miserables” and “Silver Linings Playbook” (four nominations each). Favored nominees in the acting categories included Daniel Day-Lewis (“Lincoln”), Anne Hathaway (“Les Miserables”) and Jennifer Lawrence (“Silver Linings Playbook”).
Television winners included “Girls,” “Homeland,” and “Game Change”.
HBO received 17 nominations as a network, including five for “Game Change,” the most from any television show or movie. “Homeland,” the Showtime thriller, scored four nominations, including Best Television Series, Drama.
