After reaching 210 pounds in her first pregnancy with daughter Maxwell, Jessica Simpson is taking a new approach to her second pregnancy.
A source close to the star tells Life & Style, on newsstands now, “She hasn’t quite lost all the weight from her previous pregnancy, so she wants to gain only 25 to 30 pounds this time.” The source continues, “She wants to be healthy.”
And though she definitely won’t be dieting during her pregnancy, Jessica has decided to keep the personal chef she hired while on Weight Watchers. “She learned a lot while losing the weight she gained with Maxwell,” a friend adds. “She knows about empty calories and portion control. Before, she knew very little about nutrition.”
Her healthy approach seems to be paying off. While vacationing with her fiancé, Eric Johnson, the star snapped a picture of her growing baby bump for the world to see on Twitter, which has only helped prove how determined she is to keep her weight in check during this pregnancy.
After giving birth later this year, Jessica plans to return to her Weight Watchers diet.
