Josh Brolin got into trouble on New Years Day. The actor was arrested for public intoxication just before midnight on January 1 in Santa Monica, CA. According to police, Josh was booked into jail at 3:02 a.m. and then released at 7:14 a.m. on January 2nd.

The 44-year-old actor, who is married to Diane Lane, paid the $250 bail and will not have to go to court since he was not given a citation for the arrest.

Sources close to Brolin tell TMZ that the “Gangster Squad” star was partying with a couple of his good friends and simply ended up having “too much fun.”

Josh has had many run-in’s with the law. In 2004 his wife, actress Diane Lane, called police after Brolin reportedly slapped her, and he was arrested for domestic battery. Lane ultimately decided not to press charges, and the incident was characterized as a “misunderstanding”.

In 2008, Josh and a few other actors were arrested after getting into a barfight in Louisiana. Charges were later dropped.

He strikes me as a loose cannon. I wouldn’t want to get close to him, especially once he’s been drinking. Plus – he hits women. Enough said.
