Jennifer Lopez in Harper’s Bazaar: “I’m a singer. I’m a dancer. I’m an actress. It makes me a better parent.”
Jennifer Lopez graces Harperââ¬â¢s Bazaarââ¬â¢s February cover, àand in the interview, she opens up about her lifestyle, career, family, and more.
When Lopez gets her J. Lo on, itââ¬â¢s as if she has an inbuilt wind machine. The machine around her is massive too: Along with her family and her longtime manager, Benny Medina, she has assistants, hair and makeup, security, a trainer, tour managers, and on and on. ââ¬ÅI like the whole idea of traveling, of looking good, and doing it well,ââ¬Â she says. ââ¬ÅI make it as simple and as beautiful as I can because my life is kind of big. So I pack my luggage, or dress myself, or comb my kidsââ¬â¢ hair, pick up their clothesââ¬âthat makes our life beautiful, you know? Thereââ¬â¢s something very elegant in that.ââ¬Â
On her career: ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m a singer. Iââ¬â¢m a dancer. Iââ¬â¢m a performer. Iââ¬â¢m an actress. Thatââ¬â¢s what Iââ¬â¢m supposed to be doing. It makes me a better parent, a better person.ââ¬Â
On the notoriously racy palm-print Versace she wore to the Grammy Awards in 2000: ââ¬ÅI have that at home,ââ¬Â she says. ââ¬ÅThe other day, my housekeeper put it on a mannequin in my spa, where I get my hair and makeup done. She sent me a picture. She was like, ââ¬ËYou like this dress?ââ¬â¢ Um, yeah, but I donââ¬â¢t know if I like it out in the house!ââ¬Â Her boyfriend, Casper Smart, pipes in: ââ¬ÅBut itââ¬â¢s famous! Itââ¬â¢s the most famous dress youââ¬â¢ve ever worn.ââ¬Â
