The voice behind the ‘Gossip Girl’ narrator has finally been revealed after six seasons!

In case you don’t want to be spoiled, I’ll put the rest of the post after the jump!

Gossip Girl was finally revealed on the CW series’ finale, after six seasons and countless twists.

There were plenty of flashbacks on the “Gossip Girl” finale, most of which focused on Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) and his first encounters with Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively). In the present time, viewers saw Dan decide to give the final chapter of his book to Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) and “The Spectator,” which revealed who Gossip Girl was.

Then, using “Gossip Girl’s” signature voiceover, viewers heard Dan’s voice say: “I wasn’t born into this world, maybe I could write myself into it … And when Serena came back from boarding school, I wrote my first post about me. Lonely boy, the outsider. The underdog. I might’ve been a joke, but at least people were talking about me.”

Yep, Dan was Gossip Girl.

He also revealed that Jenny (Taylor Momsen, who made an appearance) knew it was him for a while and lucky for Dan, Serena defended him and in a flash forward, the two ended up marrying.

“Gossip Girl” executive producer Stephanie Savage told E! Online that the reveal wasn’t always planned — but felt like the right way to wrap up the show, and give loyal fans a proper send-off.

The Hollywood Reporter called the “Gossip Girl” reveal a fitting end to the series, and commended the series for returning to its guilty pleasure roots one last time.

I gave up on ‘Gossip Girl’ aaaaaaaaaaaages ago, but I know many of you guys still love it. What did you think about the finale?

I loved the flashbacks in this episode, particularly how they explained Dan’s past as Gossip Girl because until this episode I had no idea that Dan was the blogger. A friend I work with at DISH suspected it, though, so I’m going to go back through this season and see I missed any clues about Gossip Girl’s identity. It will be easy for me to re-watch the show since I have all of this year’s episodes saved on my DISH Hopper. It can store 2000 hours of movies and shows, so it had enough room to save Gossip Girl’s entire season along with all my other shows.

wow that didn’t sound TOO MUCH like a ad for Dish Hopper crap! I thought it was a great wrap up to the series, I’ve been a loyal viewer since day one. I have never once suspected Dan! It was awesome! I will also be watching the series again but on hulu or netflix which ever one has them all.
