Emily Maynard is swapping her Bachelorette heels for a pair of dancin’ shoes!
Yep, you heard me. This newly-single reality star is doing Dancing With The Stars, but the catch is that she’s known about it for almost six months! Says a source to Star magazine:
“When she signed her contract to be on The Bachelorette, ABC also had her sign on to commit to doing Dancing with the Stars. She loves being in the limelight,†a source said, adding that while some of the other hoofers are desperate to land certain pros as their partners, all Emily seemingly cares about is dancing her way into a television career.”
Interesting! She seemed so..wholesome on The Bachelorette (and The Bachelor, for that matter), but it seems as though both Maynard and ABC want Maynard to be a network mainstay. Still, this puts a lot of stress on Maynard and her relationship with her daughter, seven year old Josephine Riddick “Ricki†Hendrick, but Maynard is determined to stay in the spotlight!
“Emily told me the real reason she wants to do the show is to help get herself her own talk show,†dished the insider. “She’s terrified of losing her fame. She loves being famous and has wanted it her entire life.â€
Ricki’s grandparents aren’t so hot on the idea, so I guess we can safely say that Emily’s relationship with her ex-husband’s parents is also pretty strained.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, “Rick and Linda were horrified by the news that Emily wants to move to California,” said a source. “They can’t bear the thought of Ricki being that far away from them, she is the one thing that makes the pain of losing their son tolerable. They see so much of [their son] Ricky in their granddaughter, they love her to pieces and have become incredibly close to her — she keeps the memory of Ricky alive.”
Again, Emily’s story is definitely a sad one. I think everyone who watched her on television wished her a happy life for her and her daughter. Still…is this the happy life you envisioned for our dear Bachelorette?
