Shannen Doherty went above and beyond to help a twitter fan in need!

The actress contacted officers late Sunday night and told police she had been receiving several disturbing tweets from a fan who threatened to kill herself unless she got a phone call from the actress (ah, superfans.  A unique brand of crazy). Doherty believed the fan possessed a gun, and through some coercion was able to get the fan to reveal her address.

Cops were immediately dispatched to the 27-year-old New Jersey woman’s home, where she assured the police that she did not wish to harm herself. Cops also say they found nothing that would lead them to believe she was a danger to herself (except excessively loving Ms. Doherty?).  The Doherty fan declined medical attention, and cops eventually left the scene after determining she wasn’t suicidal.

Still, nice work, Shannen!  If there’s even a question something as serious as suicide might occur, it’s good to alert the authorities. Still…I wonder what she wanted from the actress…a photograph? A lock of hair? To tell her her innermost secrets? Weeiird.
