Brad Pitt leads his family to safety in ‘World War Z’, after they realize they are under attack from zombies in this new trailer.

Brad Pitt can be seen sitting in traffic with his wife and children, but things go nuts fast after a car crash.

Eventually they make their way onto a rooftop and are rescued by the military, but it soon becomes clear the UN worker’s good fortune is actually due to his usefulness in the war effort.

After being flown to an aircraft carrier a commander appeals to him, saying: ‘I need you to help me.’

Brad seems reluctant, saying, ‘you’re asking me to leave my family,’ but he soon makes up his mind, and tells his wife, played by Mireille Enos, ‘let the kids know I’m coming back.’

The pair also lock lips before he climbs aboard a chopper to head into the field.

He soon finds himself searching the globe for information that can stop the zombie outbreak that is bringing down nations.

Lane scours the world collecting the stories and experiences of those who have survived the conflict that almost eradicated humanity.

He has access to some thrilling transport options to aid his quest, boasting both a helicopter and a classy private jet that Mitt Romney would be envious of.

Filming of the movie took place in 2011, with the crew spending time in Malta, Glasgow and Cornwall to get the perfect shots, before heading to Budapest.

However, the morning before filming began, a Hungarian Anti-Terrorism Unit raid seized the firearms that had been brought in for use as props for the movie.

This, along with changes to the script, has ensured that the movie has been a lengthy project.

World War Z was initially set for release on December 21 this year but the date has now been pushed back to June 21 2013, after re-shoots took place in September and October.

I am NOT a zombie-movie kind of girl. But I do love me some Brad Pitt, so I’m torn. What do you think of the preview?
