Heidi Klum canceled her famous halloween party slated for tonight, on account of hurricane Sandy!

In a statement provided to ET on Tuesday, the supermodel showed obvious concern for those affected by Sandy, and hopes she can postpone the party to a later date.  She says:

“I hope you & your loved ones are safe after this devastating storm in the New York City area. For obvious reasons, I am canceling my Halloween party scheduled for tomorrow night. I hope to postpone for the near future… maybe a very Haunted Christmas? I hope everyone understands and stays safe.”

We understand, Heidi!  It’s a pretty cool gesture from a celebrity- and though many celebrities are reporting on Sandy, most are not taking action to raise awareness and show compassion for those in the middle of it.  The one regret I have is not being able to see more photographs of Heidi Klum in her awesome costume: she was going to be Cleopatra this year!
