Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy Aren’t Getting Along On Mad Max Set

Rumor has it,  Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy are NOT getting along on the Mad Max set!

On top of production delays on the fourth installment of the sci-fi franchise, entitle Mad Max: Fury Road…Charlize thinks her leading man is a total weirdo!

A source explained the conflict by saying:

“Charlize and Tom are just not getting on together. Professionally, they are doing a wonderful job, but in-between takes Tom likes to stay in character and is constantly talking to himself and mumbling things. Charlize has tried to talk to him during breaks in filming but he shuts himself off from the rest of the cast.”

Yikes.  Sounds like two different types of actors, to the core.  The insider continued to explain:

“She has the ability to switch off when she’s not filming, and can immediately turn into her character as soon the camera’s rolling. However, he prefers to isolate himself and Charlize thinks he’s a weirdo! But I don’t think that bothers him, he just does his own thing.”

Come on…you two are both so beautiful. Can’t you get along? Or, you know, both do brilliantly and then I can love you both equally?

Ugh, actors like that are so pretentious. I was at a SAG Q&A with Sally Field and somebody asked her if it was hard to work with Daniel Day Lewis because he is so method. She said that DDL isn’t a method actor, but she is because she actually trained at the actors studio under Strasberg who created method acting. She said what DDL does is very intense, but it isn’t method.

Staying in character is not method acting. Hardy is probably trying to emulate Christian Bale who he recently worked with on The Dark Knight Rises. Bale is infamous for staying in accent and character the duration. But it isn’t method. It works for Bale, so Hardy probably thinks it will work for him. Maybe. Theron needs to get off the high horse she usually rides in on. That is the problem.
