Gwyneth Paltrow is InStyle’s October cover girl! In the magazine, the actress opened up (again) about her work, her kids, and GOOP. (Doesn’t she ever have anything new to talk about?) She also talks about turning 40 next week. Guess that’s new.
Here are the excerpts from the interview, via Celebitchy:
Gwyneth turns 40 years old next week:àââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m takingàstockàand really looking at everything. Iââ¬â¢m trying to accept myself. Thereââ¬â¢s a Rumi poem, ââ¬ÅThe Guest House,ââ¬Â about welcoming in all aspects of yourself: The dark, the light, the jealous, the happy. Let them all in. But know that youââ¬â¢re not defined by any single one of them. Iââ¬â¢ve become much more serious after experiencing all the ups and downs of lifeââ¬âheartbreak, the death of people I loveââ¬Â¦These days I feel pretty grounded.ââ¬Â
Why she ââ¬Åworks so hardââ¬Â (LOL):àââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢m hard on myself, so Iââ¬â¢m working on shifting perspective toward self-acceptance, with all my flaws and weaknesses. The positive thing that drives me is a curiosity and momentum. The negative is a need to validate myself or feelàspecial.ââ¬Â
On her kids:àââ¬ÅWhen Apple was born, she had the hugest blue eyes. I looked into them, and she was looking at me, and I felt like, You are here to teach me everything. After [Moses] was born I had postpartumàdepression. It was a difficult time, and because of that I believe I have an extra empathy for him, and he for me.ââ¬Â
Goop readers:àââ¬ÅGoop readers trust my taste and know that I know where to find cool stuff. A city guide is a fast and fun way for them to have access to where I actually eat, shop, get a manicure, and hang out.ââ¬Â
Her common interests with Chris Martin:àââ¬ÅWe laugh a lot, and at the same jokes,ââ¬Â says Paltrow. ââ¬ÅWe like the same music and we like to do the same things.ââ¬Â
Having more kids?àââ¬ÅMy brain says, ââ¬ËOh, I think Iââ¬â¢m done, the kids are so big now, and I donââ¬â¢t want to go back to changing diapers.ââ¬â¢ But a part of me would love to have another. Of course, Iââ¬â¢m old now!ââ¬Â
On plastic surgery:àââ¬ÅI want to move my face because Iââ¬â¢m supposed to convey emotion in myàjob. But I haveàwrinklesàso I donââ¬â¢t know ââ¬â Iââ¬â¢m not going to say that Iââ¬â¢ll never do anything, but I would always want to look like myself.ââ¬Â
I think she’s looking better as she gets older. Hopefully she doesn’t start messing with her face!
