LeAnn Rimes is tucked away in a treatment center where she’s getting help with her coping mechanisms. She is NOT in a treatment center getting help for anything else, like drugs and alcohol as some people have reported. She was simply stressed beyond measure – and needed a little help. Now we’re starting to get a clearer picture what happened before she entered treatment, and what sent her over the edge!

LeAnn Rimes just filed a lawsuit against two women she claims illegally taped a conversation with her and then spread it across the Internet.

TMZ has obtained a copy of the suit … filed in L.A. County Superior Court. Rimes alleges Kimberly Smiley and Lexi Smiley are supporters of Brandi Glanville — Eddie Cibrian’s ex — and engaged in a campaign to trash her when she hooked up the with Eddie.

This Spring, LeAnn claims she called Kimberly in an attempt to stop the negative Internet activity. During the conversation, LeAnn says she attempted to be kind and said she wanted peace.

LeAnn alleges Kimberly and Lexi illegally and secretly recorded the conversation and then released out-of-context excerpts, painting her in a “false and negative light.” They also allegedly made statements that LeAnn was “crazy and delusional.”

LeAnn is suing for invasion of privacy.

Rimes’ lawyer, Larry Stein, tells TMZ LeAnn will also go to police in an effort to get the people responsible for the recording prosecuted.

As we previously reported, Rimes is currently in a treatment facility for stress management.

I agree that it’s not very cool that Eddie and LeAnn had an affair that caused both of their marriages to fall apart. But enough is enough! Time to move on people! Leave the poor woman alone now. According to US Weekly, Leann “has a lot of mental anguish over how she is perceived… [She has] this constant feeling of being punished for something. She feels like society has never forgiven her. She has this overwhelming need to be loved and respected.” As her music career failed, “she became focused on being a celebrity. She’s incredibly hard on herself, but she doesn’t realize the decisions she has made.”

TMZ’s reports that LeAnn is getting help with “a severe inability to cope with anxiety and stress.” Also that LeAnn has been in “meltdown mode” over “a war she’s been having with a group of people who are upset about her relationship with Eddie Cibrian. The group has gone after her in a big way on Twitter, and LeAnn — rather than ignoring them — has fought back. We’re told the stress has been unbearable for her and she wanted help.”
