National Marriage Equality Day Sends Supporters To LGBT-Friendly Businesses

Happy National Marriage Equality Day! Here’s a picture of Anderson Cooper. Now, let’s get down to business:
Chick-Fil-A’s “Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day” may celebrate the chicken establishment’s non-acceptance of gay marriage, but Equally Wed Magazine is fighting back! In an effort to show support for businesses that are LGBT-friendly (and proud of it), the publication is encouraging same-sex marriage supporters to patronize establishment that do further the cause of the LGBT community.
Says Equally Wed:
“In an effort to heighten awareness for all companies and nonprofits contributing to the fight for marriage equality, we’ve decided to rename August 7 as National Marriage Equality Day. EquallyWed.com asks that you spend your money wisely on this day, and every day. It’s important to be an informed consumer.”
The online mag says businesses like Starbucks, Best Buy, and Nike openly believe in and support equality. If you don’t feel comfortable giving your money to a multi-billion dollar corporation, I hear ya. Instead, donate your money to a likeminded LGBT-friendly charity!
Check out a master list of openly gay-friendly establishments HERE.
And thanks for reading! Your reward? This picture of Matt Bomer. Now stop wasting time and go spend some money somewhere gay-friendly, already. GO!

This is getting ridiculous. Chick fila wasn’t taking a stance against gays and they weren’t “discriminating” b/c I know that they serve people of all races, orientations, etc. but only shared their belief in an interview. Discrimination isn’t having an opinion…it’s acting out on those opinions and I’ve never seen them do such. The appreciation day (IMO) was not standing up for anti-gay as much as it was supporting a business that is not deserving of the slander and malice it has been shown when they don’t even discriminate. The appreciation day was just to say “enough already.”
