Gwen Stefani graces Harperââ¬â¢s Bazaarââ¬â¢s September cover, and in the interview, the singer opens up about her style, staying fit, balancing career and motherhood, and more.
On her style: ââ¬ÅIââ¬â¢ve always been a girl who loves to dress up,ââ¬Â says Gwen. ââ¬ÅI already put my makeup on twice today: I put it on to take my kid to school, and then I went home, washed my face, and put it on again to have lunch with you.ââ¬Â She even wears it at home because ââ¬ÅI like to make my husband like me more,ââ¬Â she says, laughing, ââ¬Åand he likes it when Iââ¬â¢m wearing makeup.ââ¬Â
On staying fit: ââ¬ÅI hate talking about my body [all the time]; itââ¬â¢s ridiculous,ââ¬Â she says, referring to the number of times someone has asked how to get her six-pack abs. ââ¬ÅThere is no secret: You just have to eat healthy, work out, and torture yourself!ââ¬Â Jumping around onstage for a few hours for thousands of screaming fans is great cardio, and she says she hits the gym when her hectic mother-of-two schedule allows. ââ¬ÅBut itââ¬â¢s more for my brain than it is for my body.ââ¬Â Not that itââ¬â¢s all about mental health. On how she stays sample-size: ââ¬ÅI like to wear clothes too much, so I try to keep focused.ââ¬Â
On motherhood: ââ¬ÅItââ¬â¢s superfun being a mom, but itââ¬â¢s hard too. Finding that balance between work and family is the hardest thing Iââ¬â¢ve ever doneââ¬âby far.ââ¬Â
On fame and gossip: ââ¬ÅThat someone would say something untrue or bad about me doesnââ¬â¢t bother me. Itââ¬â¢s like water off a duckââ¬â¢s back.ââ¬Â This attitude applies to everything from best-dressed lists to rumors that her marriage is falling apart. ââ¬ÅNone of that stuff matters. Thereââ¬â¢s something in me, being this passive person, that those kinds of things donââ¬â¢t upset me. I know they can say anything; they can just make something up. But what are you going to do? Itââ¬â¢s not part of my reality, so itââ¬â¢s okay.ââ¬Â
I absolutely LOVE these pictures! She looks gorgeous!!!
