Hugh Hefner pushed Lindsay Lohan for “full nudity” but Lindsay’s mom wouldn’t allow it.

When Lindsay Lohan decided to shoot a spread for Playboy magazine, the 25-year-old actress was asked to go full-frontal-nudity. According to E! News, Lindsay’s team wouldn’t allow her to show the full monty.

“I think it was essentially mama [Dina] and the folks around her that kept pushing for less nudity,” Hugh Hefner told E! News of rumors that he convinced Lohan to go fully naked.

And I said, ‘We’re doing a nude pictorial here. We’re going to do it in a very classy way and we’re going to do it in a way in which it will not be forgotten.’”

And indeed it wasn’t. In a tribute to her idol Marilyn Monroe’s iconic Playboy pics, the blonde-again star posed against a red velvet background with bright-red lipstick and a sexy pair of pumps. “The pictorial and the concept…came from me,” Hefner said.

Still, even Hefner himself initially worried about featuring the erratic star, famously plagued by legal problems as well as drug and alcohol struggles.

“It really came as a surprise to me,” he said. “I kind of had mixed emotions about it initially. . . I wasn’t quite sure where she was at in her life, obviously. It depends on whether it’s Tuesday or Thursday.”

I thought the pictures looked surprisingly good. Lindsay looked decent in the pictures. I think she made the right move by not going full-frontal. It wouldn’t have looked as classy (?) had she shown more of her bits.

Sandra Bullock looks incredible at the ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’ premiere!

47-year-old Sandra Bullock wore a stunning black satin pantsuit by Alexander McQueen on the red carpet last night at the premiere of her new movie, ‘Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close’.

At the premiere she was joined by her costars, Tom Hanks and newcomer Thomas Horn (who was a previous Teen Jeopardy winner!).

The movie, which has a limited opening on Christmas day, centers around a young boy who loses his father on 9/11. He sets out on a journey to uncover a mystery left behind by his dad.

On Thursday, Bullock also appeared on NBC’s Today to explain why she opted for a role that gave her only 24 minutes of screen time.

“It’s truly this amazing story of this child’s point of view of what happened in his life that was this horribly tragic event,” she said. “And to see it through his eyes is far more, I think poignant and impactful, than to see it through an adult’s eyes.”

Asked why an actress of her status would agree to a smaller part rather than a starring role, Bullock replied: “I’ve already had those moments, I think. I mean, there might be more, I don’t know, but I don’t know how many moments and opportunities like this there’ll be — with stories like this, with directors and casts like this — it’s like the rare moments in life where all the elements are there, and they all come together for some strange or bigger reason.”

“You can’t say no to that,” she added.

Extremely Loud also stars Viola Davis, Jeffrey Wright, John Goodman and Zoe Caldwell.

Britney Spears’ management approves her engagement.

Britney Spears is getting engaged TONIGHT to boyfriend Jason Trawick, but it’s no surprise to Brit.

Several sources have confirmed to TMZ that Jason is planning on proposing tonight, in Las Vegas.

Apparently Britney knows she’s getting engaged, and it’s no surprise. Britney’s conservator’s have given Jason the green light to pop the question.

The matter will go before the judge in the conservatorship case but it’s virtually certain Brit will get the judge’s sign off.

And we’re told … Jason did it the old fashioned way … by asking Britney’s dad, Jamie Spears, for permission to marry his daughter.

And they’re also doing it the new-fashioned way … we’ve learned there WILL be a prenup.

Go before the judge? To get permission to marry? Yikes.

US Weekly is now reporting Britney’s already engaged:

Britney Spears is engaged to Jason Trawick, a source confirms to Us Weekly. Trawick popped the question on Thursday night, his 40th birthday, when he and Spears shared a romantic private dinner.

“This is something they’ve both wanted for a long time,” the source explains to Us. “It’s a way to cement their family. They’re both extremely happy and can’t wait to become man and wife.” The spouses-to-be plan to celebrate their engagement Friday night at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Spears coyly hinted at the big news on Twitter Friday morning, writing: “OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I’ve been waiting for. Can’t wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo”

The duo first met in 2006 in a professional capacity. Then at William Morris Endeavor Entertainment, Trawick began representing Spears while she was still wed to Kevin Federline.

Following her late 2006 split from Federline and tough personal struggles in 2007 and 2008, Trawick proved himself to be a true friend to Spears during some of her darkest hours. Indeed, a source told Us earlier this year, Trawick “was one of the only people who stuck by her through everything.”

By 2009, an on-the-mend Spears was ready to take their friendship to the next level. “Britney has liked Jason for a long time,” a source explained in April. “The fact that they were great friends gave them a foundation for a solid relationship.”

Scarlett Johansson: “I never want to play something I’ve done before”

Scarlett Johansson is promoting the heck out of her new movie, ‘We Bought A Zoo’. The movie comes out on December 23, and if you’re already tired of hearing about it (like me), not too much longer and it’ll be out. (So ScarJo can stop talking about it like crazy!) A friend of mine had free movie passes to see a screening of this movie on Monday, and I found myself realizing that I’m not sure I want to see this – even for free. I think for me – this one’s gonna be a DVD movie. Anyway….more on that promoting business…

In We Bought a Zoo, Cameron Crowe’s adaptation of the Benjamin Mee memoir, Scarlett Johansson plays a plainspoken zookeeper who helps a single dad (Matt Damon) learn the ropes of zoo ownership. The family-friendly film is a change of scenery for Johansson, who’s been busy playing seductresses, mistresses, and a Marvel superhero. We sat down with Johansson to discuss her fear of birds, her audition history with Crowe, and a desire to move away from “ingénue” roles.

You kept a distinct wide-legged stance through a lot of the movie. Was that intentional, or is it a bit of your superhero form trickling into the role?
I appreciate you noticing it because I wanted that character to be full of conviction — and in order to be full of conviction, you have to be [pause] full of conviction, or it doesn’t work. I think part of that was the physicality of the role. It was this salt of the Earth, feet on the ground, ready to just solve the problem as it comes at you [character]. There’s something a little bit “in your own skin” about it, and I think that’s just the kind of stance she adopts.

You’ve auditioned for Cameron Crowe in the past. Which films did you go after?
When I was 15, I read for Almost Famous.

Which role was it?
I don’t know. It wasn’t Penny, it was one of the other — what are they called? It’ll come to me. [Editor’s note: Band-aids!] And I read for Elizabethtown. Yeah, I’ve been auditioning for a long time.

Directors seem to like casting you as “the other woman” or the seductress. Do you ever find yourself wishing you could play more wholesome love interests, like with this role?
I think that as I get older, I’m now looking at roles that move away from that kind of ingénue mold and are more based on women that are experienced and have had life before the point you find them in. That’s refreshing for me. It’s nice to be able to kind of transition into that. I feel like for me, right now, I don’t wanna take on any roles that aren’t challenging in some way. I never wanna play something I’ve done before. I wanna be able to just have everything be hard in some way. Otherwise, what’s the point?

There’ve been reports that you’re directing a movie called Summer Crossing. Is that really happening?
I hope. It’s a project I’ve been developing for five or six years. I’m writing it right now with Tristine Skyler, so we’ll see. You have a script and then you take it out and finance it. It’s a big preproduction process, but that’s where my focus is.

Do you plan to be in the movie?
No, no.

Your new sci-fi movie, Under the Skin, sounds like something you haven’t done before. I read that you’re playing an alien disguised as a hot woman — or is that simplifying it?
That’s simplifying it. I think Jonathan [Glazer, the director] would probably say it’s a movie about an “it” that becomes a “she.” It’s kind of impossible to describe. It’d be like trying to describe, like, a Mike Leigh film. It’s very abstract in a certain way.

Are there comedy elements?
No, there’s nothing funny about it at all. It’s like nothing I’ve ever done. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it. It’s physically and emotionally challenging. I’ve never done anything as difficult. I don’t think Jonathan has, either. We’re, like, exhausted. But it’s good. It’s nice to be that challenged. It feels like you’re alive.

I think I’m more interested in this alien movie than I am ‘We Bought a Zoo’! Sounds interesting!

Either way – I love Scarlett Johansson. Even when she’s in a bad movie – I still kinda like it – just because she’s in it.

The reviews are in! What critics are saying about Charlize Theron and ‘Young Adult’

Charlize Theron appeared at the Los Angeles premiere of her latest movie, ‘Young Adult’ looking gorgeous, if you ask me. She’s wearing a dress by Stella McCartney. While I’m not in love with the dress, I think she looks beautiful anyway!

I saw ‘Young Adult’ earlier this week (review here), and in a nutshell, I really liked it. It’s dark, and sad, but Charlize was great! What are other critics saying about her new movie, which opens today?

The film reunites director Jason Reitman with Juno screenwriter, Diablo Cody. Theron plays Mavis Gary, a 40-year-old writer of teen fiction who sees a chance to return to her small hometown as a way to relive her glory days and recapture her high school sweetheart, Buddy (Patrick Wilson).

The Hollywood Reporter’s chief film critic, Todd McCarthy, felt the film could have been longer and explored the story more, but he says the highlight of the film was in its acting, including Theron’s performance.

“Jumping into the deep end with an essentially unlikeable character who is nonetheless compelling and sometimes great fun to watch, Theron is terrific,” he says in his review. “She makes Mavis’ arrogance and certainty of her own allure not only convincing but enjoyable.”

Chicago Sun-Times critic, Roger Ebert agrees, simply saying “Theron is flawless at playing a cringe-inducing monster.”

The New York Observer’s Rex Reed raves about the actress’ performance in his review. “Another triumphant performance by Charlize Theron informs and enhances the otherwise uneven Young Adult,” he opens up his review of the film. Reed says that even if the film may at times feel laborious to watch, Theron’s acting makes it worth it.

“Ms. Theron, a true beauty and one of the screen’s most exquisite actors,” Reed writes. “Keeps the film airborne even when it seems dangerously earthbound. She’s a one-woman emergency rescue squad.”

In fact, most critics seem to have a universal appreciation for the actress’ performance in the role despite feeling that the film doesn’t quite live up to its promise. Salon’s Andrew O’Hehir calls the film “painful in the wrong way” and feels as if it fails in giving Theron’s performance the spotlight it deserves.

“It’s a fearless performance, but beyond sheer voyeurism Reitman and Cody never give us a reason to pay attention to Mavis,” the critic writes. “Let alone give three-quarters of a crap about what becomes of her.”

If you don’t mind dark comedies, I reccommend this movie. But if you’re looking for a light-hearted comedy – or romcom – skip this one!

Melissa Rivers Dating Porn King Steve Hirsch

Well, isn’t this the most unlikely couple of the year. Fashion Police host Melissa Rivers has a new beau in her life, none other than Vivid Entertainment’s porn king Steve Hirsch. He confirms the couple’s status, saying:

“Melissa and I met through a mutual friend and immediately hit it off. It’s still new, but we’re having fun.”

Ironically, Joan Rivers’ famous daughter split from her boyfriend, businessman Jason Zimmerman, in September after finding out there were images of him on an adult website. The 43-year-old has a son, Cooper, 10, with her former husband, horse trainer and Apollo Farms owner John Endicott.

Hm, do you think this is a good match?

Courtney Love Being Evicted From NYC Home

I guess Courtney Love was spending too much time worrying about Lindsay Lohan and not enough time paying her rent, as the New York Post has reported that the 46-year-old singer is being evicted from her $27,ooo-a-month NYC townhouse.

Donna Lyon, the owner of the $8 million home, told the Post that Love “wallpapered and painted a large portion of the property without my consent.” One of the requirements of the lease was that nothing should be done to the interiors.

“This can’t be my property,” Lyon told the paper. “I came to New York to see it and I was horrified by what she had done. The walls that had been hand-painted and glazed were ruined, covered in damask wallpaper and ice-blue paint.”

In June, Love accidentally started a fire in the master bedroom. “I got a call from her accountant, who said, ‘Miss Love is fine,’ which I was glad to hear,” Lyon said. “But I thought, ‘What about the house?’”

Donna Lyon says that Courtney is $54,000 behind on her bills, which annually total $324, 000. I don’t know why famous people just don’t pay it all up front. *shrug*
