Gerard Butler has been hospitalized after being pulled underwater and dragged over a rocky reef by a large set of waves. The actor was on the set of his new movie ‘Of Men and Mavericks’ in Northern California.
The actor, 42, was taken to Stanford Medical Center dazed but not seriously injured, after being rescued by a safety patrolman, according to ESPN.com.
“[Butler] had that 100-yard stare that surfers get after a two-wave hold-down or near-death experience,” reports ESPN.
Surfer Zach Wormhoudt, who was filming with Butler, told ESPN their group was caught off guard by a set of waves that appeared to come out of nowhere.
In March, professional surfer Sion Milosky drowned at the same spot.
Butler is expected to make a full recovery.
Scary!!

Emily Maynard’s relationship with The Bachelor’s Brad Womack didn’t work out, but the 25-year-old’s relationship with ABC remains strong!
It’s so strong, in fact, the network has asked Emily to be the next Bachelorette, Life & Style has learned!
“It’s basically a done deal,” a source close to Emily, a single mom, tells the new issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now. “She hasn’t signed the contract yet, but she’s fully on board.”
Emily, who’s the mother of 6-year-old Ricki, tweeted just last summer “I don’t want to be the Bachelorette,” but now she seems to have had a change of heart.
Since splitting with Brad in May after becoming engaged to him in March during season 15 of The Bachelor, the North Carolina mom has been linked to Carolina Panthers tight end Jeremy Shockey and Most Eligible Dallas star Matt Nordgren, whom she has denied dating.
But Emily is ready to find love again, and ABC believes she’s the perfect choice to star on The Bachelorette: “Emily is America’s sweetheart,” adds the source. “Fans are going to be thrilled! Everyone loved her.”
What do you think? I would have SOOOOOOOOOOOOO rather had her as the Bachelorette last season over Ashley. Ashley drove me nuts!

I probably shouldn’t call his sons adorable. My sons would scream at me if I called them that. How about handsome? They’re going to be very handsome men!
The -Sun Military Awards took place in London last night, and David Beckham was on hand with two of his sons, Brooklyn and Romeo.
In other David news, looks like his contract with L.A.’s Galaxy is about to expire. Will David and his family re-sign and stay in the U.S., or are they headed back to Europe?
Those hoping David Beckham would be introduced Sunday as Paris Saint-Germain’s newest superstar left the Parc des Princes disappointed.
The Galaxy midfielder wasn’t seen at PSG’s 0-0 draw against Lille, the British media widely reported, despite reports Saturday by France Football magazine that Beckham and his family were in Paris, ostensibly to sign with the Qatari-owned French giant.
The magazine, one of the sport’s most prestigious, reported that Beckham might be introduced before the game as the club’s latest and greatest conquest, and the stadium was filled and buzzing with expectation.
Beckham’s five-year contract with the Galaxy expires Dec. 31, and he is considering returning to the MLS Cup champions, signing an 18-month deal reportedly worth $18.7 million with PSG, returning home to England (where several clubs are interested, with Tottenham the likeliest destination) or signing elsewhere.
It is assumed he is weighing the offers from PSG and the Galaxy.
It doesn’t matter a bit to me where they end up, not a huge soccer person. But I could certainly see Victoria Beckham living it up in Paris!

Take a look at this new ad by CoverGirl. Can you figure out why the US’s National Advertising Division of the Council of Better Business Bureaus Claims (NAD) has chosen to ban it?
Excessive photoshopping!
Business Insider reports that the NAD has banned print ads for CoverGirl NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara, including the spots featuring celeb spokesmodel Taylor Swift. According to the NAD, the ads made “superior performance claims” such as “2X more volume” and “20 percent lighter” that simply couldn’t be substantiated.
The NAD specifically noted that the Swift ad had a disclaimer printed on the bottom that clearly stated, “lashes enhanced in post production.”
“You can’t use a photograph to demonstrate how a cosmetic will look after it is applied to a woman’s face and then — in the mice type — have a disclosure that says ‘okay, not really,’ ” NAD director Andrea Levine told Business Insider.

I think it’s about time something was done about this. This issue of false advertising has bothered me for YEARS. As a beauty blogger, I’m CONSTANTLY being sent products to try out with the promise of this – and that. We see the ads, we read all the claims of “longer lashes” or “fuller lashes” and 9 times out of 10, nothing ever really lives up to the promise! It has gotten to the point (with me) that I really don’t pay much attention to beauty ads at all, because who really believes that stuff anymore? Don’t we all just see it as fake?
Maybelline was made to address an similar Photoshop issue earlier this year, when an ad for its anti-aging “Eraser” product used Photoshop instead of the product itself to erase spokesmodel Christy Turlington’s dark circles. Britain’s ASA banned the ad for misleading consumers.
In fact, Business Insider notes that in banning the Taylor Swift spot, the NAD is specifically trying to follow the ASA’s lead. Does that mean we should expect a banned-ad-of-the-week in the US to match Great Britain? Could this be the end of Photoshopping Disasters?
I’m really happy something is finally being done about this trend in advertising. You should not be able to photoshop results. The UK has been banning ads for years, and they take a much more critical stand on false advertising. Hopefully the U.S. will crack down on ads here as strongly!
Who’s with me? (Pic below…too priceless, I had to)
