It’s no secret that pop star Pink loves animals and she went on to show just how much when she dished out $5,000 to save an injured puppy in an shelter for abused animals.
According to the shelter’s site, the pup had been tossed into the Los Angeles river and needed emergency surgery, and after Pink came across the doggie’s story, she offered to pay the medical expenses to help a four-legged friend.
Sources tell TMZ the puppy Pink saved has since been adopted by a loving family.
“I hope everyone out there gets a big hug and feels super duper special at least three times this holiday,” the altruistic star tweeted Wednesday. “Even if it’s from a stranger. Hugs are healthy.”

Speaking with reporters outside of his London home, George says that the illness nearly killed him, saying that it was the “worst month of my life.”
“[Doctors spent] three weeks basically keeping me alive … It was by far, the worst month of my life.”
George choked up, insinuating he had been in a coma during his time in the ICU — “I spent the last ten days since I woke up literally thanking people for saving my life.”

The couple, who have been dating since May, are typically low-key. But this holiday season, the two weren’t afraid to send a joint message to their family and friends.
The red card reads: “We wish you and your family a holiday season full of happiness and joy,” and informs the recipient that “a donation has been made in your name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Best Friends Animal Society,” according to Lainey Gossip, which obtained a photo of the card.
Below the text, Aniston, 42, and Theroux, 40, signed the card: “With warmth and love, Jen and Justin.”
The quiet couple have recently been spotted enjoying dinner together in L.A. at Santa Monica’s Marix Tex Mex restaurant, though they went their separate ways after the meal.
Aniston and Theroux initially met on the set of “Wanderlust,” and have since been shooting down marriage and pregnancy rumors.
“I’ve been married once, and I don’t know if I’ll get married again,” she told Hello! magazine in October. “But I can tell you that as of this moment, I have no plan to get married. Got that?”
