The King of All Media is coming to a television near you! It has just been announced that Stern will be a judge on the Season 7 of ‘America’s Got Talent’.

Howard Stern’s larger-than-life personality will bring a thrilling new dynamic to America’s Got Talent starting this summer,” NBC’s Paul Telegdy said in a statement. “He’s a proven innovator and his track record in broadcasting is truly remarkable. Howard is very passionate about this show and is fully committed to its future success.”

Stern, whose SiriusXM radio show is based in New York, won’t necessarily be making cross-country trips for his new gig, as AGT is moving production of its live shows to the Big Apple. Stern, who is replacing Piers Morgan, will join judges Sharon Osbourne, Howie Mandel and host Nick Cannon.

America’s Got Talent is currently holding auditions for season 7, with upcoming open calls in Austin, Charlotte and San Francisco.

I listen to Howard every morning, and have for about 10 years. I’m pretty surprised he’s doing this, because all he ever complains about is how he DOESN’T want to work anymore. With all the money he has, he could certainly retire! On the other hand – if there’s one thing he likes to do – it’s judge. I think it’s hilarious they’re moving the whole production to NY for him. They must really want him! PLUS – I’m sure whatever they paid him was insane.

I don’t listen to him, but I have, and I’ve always liked him. And I know I shouldn’t, but I am kinda getting a kick out of how pissed some people are at him getting that job! He is so much smarter than people think he is!

I love that people are getting pissed about it too. TV needs a little jolt of something interesting, and I think Howard is exactly what NBC needs right now!

If the other two judges stay the same, it should make for some interesting chemistry. It was actually on Stern’s radio show and former E! show that judge Sharon Osborne and her husband Ozzy first proved to be so fascinating as reality guests, and it was also on Stern’s show that judge Howie Mandel first opened up about his personal life, including his OCD. I’ll actually watch that show now. Of course, I’ll have to wait 5 years since I live in Australia…
