SVU star Mariska Hargitay has adopted again! Just six month after adopting her second child, a girl named Amaya Josephine, she’s adopted again! This time a son named Andrew Nicolas Hargitay Hermann!

Why such a quick second adoption for the Law and Order: SVU star and husband Peter Hermann, who also have a biological son, August, 5 (pictured above)?

“He was a preemie,” born in the United States about three months early, explains the insider. “He and Amaya are just a few months apart.” Hargitay, 47, and theater actor Hermann, 44, adopted Amaya back in April.

“Their hearts were so opened by the [first] adoption,” the source says of Hargitay and Hermann, married since 2004. “So they couldn’t imagine NOT taking the opportunity to bring another baby into the family.”

Of course, expanding the brood from three to five within six months hasn’t been easy. “They are very tired and overwhelmed with the change,” admits the source. “But overjoyed.”

“Mariska is thrilled and amazed with all the new blessings and great fortune,” continues the source. “She has more love than she imagined!”

Good for them! Congrats!

Rumors that Jessica Simpson is pregnant have been getting louder and louder as time goes on. Word around town is she’s trying to negotiate a cover deal with People Magazine to “reveal” the news, but that hasn’t come together yet. So she’s walking around town, covering her belly, pretending that she’s not with child until the time comes when she’s paid to reveal the news. OK Magazine is the latest “source” claiming she’s pregnant.

Dressed in a flowing striped maxi dress, a beaming Jessica Simpson smiled as she arrived for a baby shower at the Ivy at the Shore restaurant in Santa Monica.

The performer, along with her mom, Tina; sister, Ashlee; and 2-year-old nephew, Bronx, was at the restaurant on Oct. 15 to celebrate childhood friend Stephanie McGuire Terblanche’s impending motherhood — but that’s not the only baby the Simpson clan is getting ready for!

“Jessica is so excited,” says a close friend, who confesses that Jessica has been slowly telling all her pals that she and fiancé Eric Johnson, 32, are becoming parents.

“She joked, ‘Well, now I can eat anything I want and no one will care. It’s just sort of a rule with pregnant women.’ But it was typical Jessica that she was making a joke of it.”

At 31, Jessica has learned to take life’s little twists and turns in stride. Although she originally told her friends that she didn’t plan to have a baby before she was married to Eric, to whom she became engaged this past November, the order of these happy events hasn’t really mattered to her. Jessica is just delighted finally to become a mother.

“She really did want to get married over the summer and then have a baby on the way by the holidays,” says a second friend. “I remember her saying to us, ‘I’m having a baby before my next birthday’, and it wasn’t even a question. She would always just say it feels right and that she knew he would become the father of her future children.”

I think the strongest proof that she’s pregnant – is the news she put her wedding on hold. I don’t think for a second she’d put it on hold for any other reason. I think she’s going to have this baby first, get back into shape, and then walk down the aisle. Only time will tell, I suppose!

Lindsay Lohan has caught another break (of course she has). When she goes before the judge this morning, she’ll have the Probate Department on her side. According to TMZ, they do not believe she should be thrown in jail.

The Probation Officials will tell the judge in a written report that Lindsay is in “substantial compliance” with the terms of her probation. They do admit that she was kicked out of the Downtown Women’s Center for failing to show up, but they point out that Lindsay has a year to complete her 360 hours of community service.

They will also report that Lindsay has been in touch with her shrink, and has gone “regularly”.

Judge Sautner made it clear … if Lindsay violated any court order, she would go to jail. So now it’s up to Herhonner to decide if Lindsay went astray or whether a few missteps don’t count.

Good news for Lindsay?

The judge who could end up sending her to jail has decided she doesn’t have to do any community service, at least for now.

Bad News for Lindsay Lohan: She’ll be sweeping up blood and guts at the L.A. County Morgue.

Sources connected with the Probation Department tell TMZ … Judge Stephanie Sautner contacted Probation officials and told them to immediately yank Lindsay from her current community service assignment with the Red Cross. We’re told Judge Sautner ordered the Probation people to immediately assign Lindsay to morgue duty.

It’s clearly a sign the judge is pissed off — probably at the Probation Dept. for pulling a switcheroo by taking Lindsay out of the Downtown Women’s Center, where the judge ordered Lindsay to perform 360 hours of community service. Judge Sautner also ordered Lindsay to do 120 hours at the morgue, and now that’s taken top billing.

As for pissing off the judge, we’ve learned there’s something in the Probation report that will probably do just that. Lindsay’s probation officer wrote that Lindsay had problems with the Women’s Center, because it was “not fulfilling.” One more time — Lindsay complained the Woman’s Center was “NOT FULFILLING.”

I cannot tell you how much I hate this entire look. Her hair is pulled so tight it actually looks like it’s actually pulling her face up. The dress is horrible – and the jewelry is even worse! Is this from her Sears line? That would explain so much.

Kaiser at Celebitchy had me laughing by writing that Kim “makes expensive gowns looks budget” and that’s so true! She definitely makes this dress look cheap.

I wish she’d stop spray painting the makeup on. She looks soooooooooo much more beautiful with less makeup.

“Cowboys and Aliens” actor and pilot Harrison Ford joined a meeting today of the Senate General Aviation Caucus at the US Capitol in the Senate meeting room. Ford is present at the meeting to discuss the importance of America’s general aviation industry and its need for support.

But is he still hot, now there’s the million dollar question.

I think Katie Holmes is stunning. It’s when she talks – or acts that she annoys me. She makes a gorgeous model, I’ll give her that! I can’t even handle watching the trailer for ‘Jack and Jill’, let alone watching the whole movie!

January Jones stepped out this afternoon for some shopping in Pasadena, California. The ‘Mad Men’ actress looks like she’s quickly bouncing back into shape after delivering her son, Xander.

January is also having to curb her Dairy Queen addiction. ”I was just home visiting my family in the Midwest and I went, literally, every day.”

“I made my dad take me. Pregnant or not, I love Dairy Queen. I usually get a cherry-dipped cone or sometimes I go for a Blizzard and a chili dog if I’m really hungry,” Miss Jones added.
