American Idol is prepping for its 11th season, and Jennifer Lopez says that as the years go by, the judges get just a little bit tougher on contestants.

“We’re a little tougher on everybody. Because of last season and the standard that we set, it’s easy to go, ‘Is he as good as even our top 24 from last year?’ ”

“It’s not like you find people just like that, but the ones that we found, we know are very special.”

As far as her relationships with fellow judges Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson go, she says that it’s a family affair.

“They’re like my brothers and they drive me crazy like brothers, too,” she said with a laugh. “But we love each other, which is why we’ve become like a family.”

Comedienne Wanda Sykes recently revealed that she went through a double mastectomy after finding out that she had breast cancer, and now the 47-year-old opened up once again with PEOPLE about her decision, saying that it didn’t take long for to  make the decision to rid her body of her breasts.

“I just wanted the best odds. I made my decision because I love life.”

Sykes was diagnosed with DCIS [ductal carcinoma in situ], a noninvasive type of breast cancer, after having a breast reduction in February.

“My first thought was, ‘Really? Me, breast cancer?’ I just couldn’t believe it, but I knew this was doable.”

On Her Surgery
“I was miserable. Every day I had to change the bandages and look at it, and it was not pretty at all,” says Sykes. “I just wanted my life back.”

On Sharing Her Experience With Her Kids
“We never hid anything from the kids. They were a huge part of my decision because I wanted to be around for them. I feel whole again, I really do. I’ve told them, ‘Mommy’s boo-boo is much better now.’ “

It’s only been a day since Steven Tyler slipped and fell inside a Paraguay shower, he made his way back to the stage sporting two new teeth and a big bright shiner.

Tyler’s rep claims the singer was dehydrated from food poisoning when he collapsed in his shower Tuesday morning — smashing his face and knocking out a couple of teeth.

63-year-old Tyler was treated by a local dental surgeon who replaced the chompers — and judging by the fact that he performed an entire concert without a hitch … the surgery couldn’t have gone better.

Famed performer Marie Osmond was rushed to the hospital last night immediately after her Las Vegas show and was diagnosed with a sever case of bronchitis.

Osmond’s rep Alan Nierob tells TMZ … Marie has a “bad lung problem” and was released from the hospital after a couple of hours. She is currently seeing doctors.

No word yet as to how this will effect her Las Vegas shows, but we hope she gets well soon so she can return to the stage at 100%.

Bad Boy Bam Margera is not too happy after his brand new Porsche was “smashed” in a traffic accident in Pennsylvania earlier today. The reality television stunt star spoke to TMZ about the collision, saying:

“A big truck made a wide turn and smashed the whole left side. I just got the damn thing too.”

Bam didn’t offer any detailed news on the condition of the 4 month old Porsche, but witnesses at the scene say that he was visibly upset, as he should have been.

We’re told the driver’s side mirror was hanging off the car and the driver’s side of the car was all scratched up.

Chris Brown will be hitting the big screen once again, as the F.A.M.E. hitmaker has been cast in an upcoming film about the art of breakdancing.

The singer will join Josh Holloway (Lost) and Laz Alonso (Avatar) for the film titled ‘Planet B Boy.’

The movie, which will be based on Benson Lee’s 2007 documentary about the dance form’s integration into mainstream culture, will follow an all-star breakdancing crew as it prepares to compete at the Battle of the Year International Championships in France.

R&B star Brown last appeared on the big screen in the 2010 thriller “Takers.”

So I take it if you’re a single female from Texas approaching the big 3-0 that you must be a lesbian because you haven’t roped in a man and spit our some babies. Apparently that’s the case with singer Kelly Clarkson, who finds it hard returning to her native state and seeing friends and family who have characterized her as an “old maid” because she has yet to settle down.

Kelly admits that it’s her non-stop career that keeps her from having the time to meet Mister Right, but says that no matter the excuse, she’s always pressured with questions about her sexuality because of her single-dom.

“I’m from a small town so everyone’s, like, married with children, having children or about to have children, so it’s a little hard when you go home… and that’s why people think I’m gay.

“They’re like, ‘I don’t understand why you’re not married.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, it’s not like that, it doesn’t happen for everyone.’ For Burleson, in Texas… I’m an old maid!”

“I’ve dated some cool guys, but I don’t know if I’ve met someone I can spend the rest of my life with… I haven’t found anyone that I would put that (career) on the side for. I might not wanna do this when I’m 50, so I might as well do as much of it as I can now.

“I wanna be married, I wanna find someone… It looks romantic and all!”
