Kate Winslet poses for the new V Magazine, an issue entitled “The Heroes Issues”. Kate dressed as her hero, Elizabeth Taylor. The gorgeous photos were shot by Mario Testino.
In the interview, she opened up about nude scenes, which she routinely does in her movies:
“I hate it! Listen make no mistake, I just get on it,” she says about baring it all on film. “I just go in and say ‘Oh f&*# let’s do it.’ and boom. If you complain about it or procrastinate it’s not going to go away. Its a profoundly bizarre thing to do. As actors you talk about it all the time. You can literally be tangled in sheets, and you turn to the other actor and say ‘What the f&*# are we doing?’ Dear Mum, at work today I had so-and-so’s left nut sack pressed against my cheek. It’s sort of unethical if you think about it in those terms.”
On her acting career:
“I hope I am sh-tting myself over the characters I play for the rest of my life. Because the day I go ‘Oh yeah, that’s going to be a piece of pie’, why f&*#ing bother? If you do that, you do not learn. I hope I’m always learning something. So I won an Oscar. It’s amazing. I’ve got that for the rest of my life for a performance I am proud of. It nearly killed me. I am really proud of the film. That’s it, moving on.”
Actor George Clooney has already moved on to Stacey Kiebler from his split with upcoming Dancing with the Stars contestant Elisabeth Canalis, and now three months after the break-up, Elisabeth sat down with Chi magazine, hinting at why the pair called it quits. She calls herself a “doormat,” saying she sees the “cold and controlled men as the right ones” for her:
“At the end of the day I have always seen the end of my relationships as a personal failure,” Canalis, 32, tells Italian magazine Chi. “There is nothing ever pretty is saying goodbye.”
Multiple pals told Us that Canalis was eager to take her relationship with Clooney to the next level — i.e. marriage — but the Ides of March actor and notorious bachelor balked.
Canalis hinted at her side of the story in her freewheeling chat with Chi.
“I’m a bit of a tomboy, but when it comes to love I am a doormat,” she said. “I’m looking for men who can give me security.”
The beauty added that she might have bad, unhealthy taste in guys. “I have always seen cold and controlled men as the right ones for me,” she sniffed. “You have to accept that Prince Charming who is coming to save you is not going to happen — it works against you.”
Her Dancing with the Stars gig, it seems, arrived at just the right time.
“The end of a relationship is complicated,” she admitted. “I went to the United States, because at the moment I could no longer face the world. Watching my life being dissected was not easy for me.”
She’s surprisingly discovered peace in Hollywood, though. “Here in Los Angeles I have found serenity. I’ve also found work. It was a difficult time for me, but you have to get on with things.”
And Canalis is hopeful about future romantic prospects, too. “In the past I would self destruct when it came to love – I was immature, throwing myself into things but now times have changed, I want a relationship where you understand the other person.”
In her recent feature in V Magazine, actress Kate Winslet reveals that she feels she is the “hypocrite of the decade,” seeing as how she vowed to never again do nude scenes, though she once again showed off her birthday suit in her Emmy-nominated series, Mildred Pierce.
“It definitely makes me the hypocrite of the decade,” she says. “I’m just going to stop saying it.”
“I hate it! Listen, make no mistake, I just get on it. I just go in and say ‘Oh f—’ let’s do it,’ and boom!” Winslet tells V Magazine. “If you complain about it or procrastinate it’s not going to go away. It’s a profoundly bizarre thing to do.”
“As actors you talk about it all the time,” she continues. “You can literally be tangled in sheets, and you turn to the other actor and say, ‘What the f— are we doing?’ Dear Mum, at work today I had so-and-so’s left nut sack pressed against my cheek. It’s sort of unethical if you think about it in those terms.”
The Contagion actress adds that she hopes to always be inspired by future projects. “I hope I am s—ting myself over the characters I play for the rest of my life, because the day I go, ‘Oh yeah, that’s going to be a piece of pie’, why f–ing bother? If you do that, you do not learn.”
“I hope I’m always learning something. So I won an Oscar. It’s amazing. I’ve got that for the rest of my life for a performance I am proud of,” Winslet says of her 2008 Academy Award for Best Actress in The Reader. “It nearly killed me. I am really proud of the film. That’s it, moving on.”
Must’ve been some dancing, because True Blood star Evan Rachel Wood got her tooth knocked out while partying it up in Paris on Tuesday night.
As first reported at TMZ, the actress hit a nightclub in the French city and, amid a dancing frenzy, was accidentally elbowed in the mouth by another reveler.
The star, currently promoting her film Ides of March and miniseries Mildred Pierce around the world, has already met with a dentist for a replacement. On Wednesday, the day after her dental emergency, Wood celebrated her 24th birthday.
Jon Gosselin waved his white flag and departed from the reality television spotlight quite some time ago, and now that his ex-wife Kate‘s show has run its course, he has some sound advice for the former Kate Plus 8 star: get back to a normal lifestyle.
In an interview with RumorFix, Jon says:
“Reality TV is not a career. Get back to a normal life – a simple life.”
Following TLC’s cancelation of her Kate Plus 8, the reality star told PEOPLE she’s “freaking out” about providing for her eight kids.
Jon, who says that he continues to pay child support and sees his kids “a lot,” isn’t worried.
“Things will work out the way they should work out,” he said. “Obviously, there are families out there that have several kids – people work normal jobs, and things work out.”
As for concerns that Kate might not be able to keep her farmhouse in Pennsylvania where she and the children reside, Jon responded: “I don’t have a farm on 24 acres and the kids seem to have a great time at my house.”
Jon, whose divorce from Kate played out on TV in 2009, says he’s given up his reality career and is leading a simple life, working as a computer support engineer.
“I go to work every day and provide for my family,” he said. “I spend time with my kids – spend time on the weekends … and enjoy a normal lifestyle.”
