Yesterday US Weekly published a story claiming that Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson were feuding on the set of their new upcoming reality show, Fashion Star. Word took off like wildfire – and Nicole called into the Ryan Seacrest show to set the record straight herself!
What happens when you cast two reality TV stars-turned-fashion designers on a competitive show?
According to a tabloid report, Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson are at war on the set of their upcoming reality show Fashion Star – but Richie is setting the record straight.
“I’ll tell you right now that that couldn’t be further from the truth,” Richie, 29, told Ryan Seacrest Thursday on his radio show, On Air With Ryan Seacrest. “I actually love and adore Jessica.”
“I’ve known her for years, first of all, so I already knew who she was as a person,” Richie added. “Who she is is someone who’s very kind, very sweet and extremely smart and a great businesswoman and someone that I really respect … I actually couldn’t love someone or respect someone more.”
In addition to Simpson, who announced she was joining Fashion Star in June, the series will feature menswear designer John Varvatos and host Elle Macpherson. The celebrity mentors will work with aspiring designers as they compete for a chance to win a multi-million dollar contract to start their own brands.
“I’m really excited and it’s something that I’m extremely honored to be a part of,” Richie said of the show. “We have a lot of fun on it.”
I wonder if the original story is true. Nicole pretty much has to lie – doesn’t she? She couldn’t come out before the show aired and admit she hates Jessica Simpson. Either way – it’s publicity for the show. This was probably all one big publicity stunt anyway!

Gwyneth Paltrow co-hosted the Coach Fashion’s Night Out in London last night. The actress wore a Stella McCartney look from the Resort 2012 collection. Her black haltered jumpsuit was teamed with a tan Coach cross-body bag.
In other Gwynnie news, it’s just been reported that Paltrow has signed on to play a sex addict in ‘Thanks for Sharing’. The new movie will be directed by ‘The Kids Are All Right’ screenwriter Stuart Blumberg.
Paltrow joins Mark Ruffalo and Tim Robbins in a film about sex addicts working to break the habit in a 12-step recovery support group; Paltrow will play a businesswoman who falls for Mark Ruffalo’s character, Variety reports. Former “Nip/Tuck” star Joely Richardson also boards a picture that was co-written, and will be directed by, Stuart Blumberg, who scored an Oscar nomination for his “The Kids Are All Right” screenplay.
Paltrow is wrapping work on “The Avengers,” the Marvel superhero teamup movie; as Pepper Potts, she joins Robert Downey, Jr. in representing the “Iron Man” franchise in the mega-film.

I didn’t even recognize her – and probably wouldn’t have – unless it was pointed out! She’s looking so……. different these days!
Jenny McCarthy and boyfriend Paul Krepelka were spotted on the sand outside her Malibu home yesterday, where they both flaunted their bodies.

In a manner of speaking…
Jennifer Garner’s Vandalia Films is developing a half-hour comedy at ABC Studios based on the book “The Geeks Shall Inherit the Earth,” according to Variety.
The book, by writer Alexandra Robbins, follows seven different students with distinct quirks and how those personalities will prove valuable in adulthood. See? It really does get better
Bert Royal, who wrote Emma Stones breakout comedy flick “Easy A,” will reportedly pen the pilot episode. Donna Roth and Susan Arnold are set to produce the show.
Ans while there’s no mention of Garner returning to the small screen any time soon, it’s nice to at least have her behind-the-scenes. And let’s face it, J.J. Abrams’ “Alias” was a total geek magnet.
I would much prefer an ‘Alias’ reunion, but I’ll settle for this.

This news is sick – and I really hope it’s not right.
According to RadarOnline, Taylor Armstrong has already inked a book deal, and the book will include personal photos of injuries sustained at the hands of her recently deceased husband, Russell Armstrong.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s book will be about domestic abuse, but desperate for money, a source reveals Taylor will be including the photos hoping it will boost sales.
“Taylor’s acting like she’s not trying to bank off Russell’s suicide, but by including photos of her injuries after he allegedly beat her, that’s exactly what she’ll be doing,” an insider told RadarOnline.com.
“It’s no secret that Taylor’s been strapped for cash since Russell died, and since she hasn’t received the advance on her book yet, a few of the Housewives have been helping her out financially.”
Taylor kept photographic evidence documenting the abuse she was allegedly enduring at the hands of Russell.
“Taylor is hoping to have the book out by the end of November, just in time for the holiday sales,” the source said.
“Not only is Taylor going to write about her own personal experiences, but she wants to spotlight other celebrities who have been involved in domestic abuse situations.”
It’s one thing to write a book about domestic abuse – but it’s something entirely different when the accused has recently committed suicide. I hope she wouldn’t do that. If it’s something she felt strongly about – she should have waited… years.
In other news, Russell Armstrong’s family is speaking out today claiming they believe their son was murdered. More from US Weekly:
“We want a murder investigation,” Armstrong’s mother, John Ann Hotchkiss, told Us Weekly. “We will do whatever is necessary to proceed.”
Russell, the estranged husband of Taylor Armstrong, was found hanging from an electrical cord tied to an exposed beam in a private L.A. home Aug. 15. He was 47 and left behind three children.
Although his grieving mom acknowledges that Russell was “feeling a little overwhelmed because of finances” (he had been accused of defrauding investors, amid other woes), Hotchkiss insisted he was never suicidal.
“Russell was personable and warm and had a giving heart more than anyone I have ever known,” she said. “He cared about people, and loved his children almost to a fault. Knowing him as a person and how he valued life, I don’t think he would do this,” she said.
“The general consensus of everyone we know who loved and knew Russell,” she explained, is that “he was murdered and there was a set up.”
Hotchkiss didn’t go into further detail about her late son’s potential killer. “No one is accusing Bravo. We think someone conspired to have him murdered and it is open as to who did it.”
This whole thing is just so sad!!
