Last week when Taylor Armstrong released pictures of herself in a hospital room, with obvious signs of abuse, I thought something seemed fishy. The only explanation I could come up with in releasing the photos now (after Russell’s suicide) was in order to get money. I got a lot of flack from some of you guys, for implying that Taylor was releasing the photos for the wrong reason. One comment read:
Why shouldn’t she publish them? If she had while he was alive she would probably be with Nicole Simpson. He deserves to be exposed, dead or alive. And I am sure if he was doing this to his wives, his family is very aware of his what type of “man” he was. I say good for her and more power to her. Weak spineless man beating up on women, hope satan is giving him some beatings and black eyes while he is burning in hell.
My only thing with releasing the photos – was what good does it do now? The guy is dead!? The only reason I could see why Taylor would publish the photos now – is for monetary purposes. And it looks like I’m right. According to the NY Post, Taylor was paid $125,000 for the pictures. If you ask me – that’s disgusting.
Taylor Armstrong raked in up to $125,000 for the sale of a picture she says was snapped after a brutal beating by her late husband, Russell. The “Real Housewives” star sold the picture — showing her lying in bed with a gruesome black eye — to “Entertainment Tonight,” which aired it last week to tease an upcoming interview with Armstrong, the first since Russell’s suicide a month ago. “Most shows that were offered the picture did not want to pay anywhere close to that,” says a source who pegs the amount of Taylor’s haul as “definitely six figures.” “ET” licensed the shot and will air its interview between Armstrong and Nancy O’Dell on Tuesday. Sources added that Armstrong is desperate for money. “She’s broke,” said one who’s familiar with the sale. A rep for “ET” had no comment, and Armstrong’s rep did not return our requests for comment. “Taylor will reveal details … about the bruises that she says were caused by her late husband,” says a promo for the interview on the “ET” site.
What’s your opinion now?
PS: Wasn’t last night’s ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ so saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad? Man, I’m finding it really hard to watch this season. Last night’s episode was pretty much entirely devoted to Taylor Armstrong’s breakdown. I know Bravo was trying to edit Russell out of the season, but I’m finding it hard to watch Taylor fall apart as well. It seems sick and voyeuristic to watch her break down. I don’t know how long I can handle watching it. It’s just all so sad!
Jessica Biel is back on set of the mistake of the year, ‘New Years Eve’ in NYC, sporting a prosthetic belly. The movie has been wrapped for ages, and we’ve already seen the trailer (below). The fact that they’re back doing re-shoots is a bad sign. This most likely means the movie has been tested, and parts (if not all) didn’t test well with audiences. So film producers are back at the drawing board filming re-shoots.
I don’t think it’s going to matter – I think the movie is going to be bad no matter what anyone does.
In these pictures, a pregnant Jessica Biel is getting a lift from a pedicab in NYC driven by Seth Meyers.
Will this movie finally earn Leonardo DiCaprio that Oscar he deserves? After being nominated three times, the gifted actor has so far walked away without the big prize. Is that about to change?
In “J. Edgar,” DiCaprio and Eastwood are diving deep into one of America’s most intriguing and controversial characters, FBI founder and director, J. Edgar Hoover. DiCaprio plays the secretive, manipulative and brilliant operative who ruled US intelligence with an iron fist, going from his younger days and donning prosthetic makeup to take on the look of the ragged, troubled older Hoover.
Judi Dench and Armie Hammer lead an impressive list of co-stars. The first trailer for the film has been released, check it out above.
He’s one of those actors (like Brad Pitt) that does truly amazing movies, and is an incredible actor, but for whatever reason, is never awarded an Oscar. Hopefully this will be Leo’s year!
A law was passed in 1993 stating that homosexuals were allowed to serve in the military – so long as they kept their sexual orientation private. As of 12:01 a.m. Tuesday morning, that law has been repealed.
Congress is still split on the decision, but top Pentagon leaders have certified that one’s sexual orientation will not undermine the military’s ability to recruit or fight wars.
The Army was distributing a business-as-usual statement Tuesday saying simply, “The law is repealed,” and reminding soldiers to treat each other fairly.
Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen, scheduled a Pentagon news conference to field questions about the repeal. And a bipartisan group of congressional supporters of allowing openly gay service planned a news conference on Capitol Hill.
Gay advocacy groups planned a series of celebrations across the country.
With the lifting of the ban, the Defense Department will publish revised regulations to reflect the new law allowing gays to serve openly. The revisions, such as eliminating references to banned homosexual service, are in line with policy guidance that was issued by top Pentagon officials in January, after Obama signed the legislation that did away with the “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.
The lifting of the 18-year-old ban also brings a halt to all pending investigations, discharges and other administrative proceedings that were begun under the Clinton-era law.
What do you think about this news? Should the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ law have remained in place – or is the repeal a good thing? Sound off below!
The video above is a “personal message” Lady Gaga sent to the Senate a year ago (almost to the day) asking for the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ law to be abolished.
