R.E.M. has called it quits.
The band just announced that they have broken up after 31 years together. “As lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band,” the band said in a statement on their official website today. “We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished.”
In just over three decades as a band, R.E.M. released 15 albums including landmark works such as Murmur, Reckoning, Document, Out of Time and Automatic For the People. The band’s final album, Collapse Into Now, was released in March of this year. There were reports over the summer that the band had spent some time in an Athens studio, but it is unclear whether anything will come of that session.

I think she’s beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But man – she is EVERYWHERE these days! She’s dating everyone, I think I’ve seen her name attached to every bachelor in Hollywood. She was spotted last night strolling through NYC.
In a recent interview with Allure, the “Cowboys and Aliens” star opens up about her divorce, making out with Mischa Barton and all those pesky rumors about who she is dating.
On rumors about her dating life:
“In order to be dating all the people they think I am, I’d need four vaginas! It’s impossible!”
On her favorite beauty products:
“I steal from makeup artists a lot.”
On kissing Mischa Barton on “The O.C.”:
“We did a lot of kissing. It was a relationship. It wasn’t a weird sensationalized moment that was just for sweeps week. These two young women were really falling in love. Women tell me that it helped them figure out their sexuality.”
Her advice for young starlets entering the business:
“If I could tell young actresses anything, it would be to just be yourself through and through. I mean, really be hard-core about sticking to your identity, because what makes you unusual is what’s going to assure your success.”
On her divorce from Italian Prince and film director, Tao Ruspoli:
“(It was) the most difficult thing I’ve ever dealt with. I got married at a very young age, so I sort of jumped into a stage of adulthood prematurely. I learned quite a lot.”
The new issue of Allure hits newsstands September 20.

I don’t know about you – but I HATE the new Facebook layout!!!
I woke up this morning to find out that Facebook is now telling me what is important, and hiding everything else. I absolutely HATE IT. I never used the “Top News” feature in the past – I always used the “Most Recent” feed instead. I don’t want to be told what I’ll like – I want to see it all! I’ve chosen my friends for a reason, obviously I want to know what they’re up to – and see their status updates!
I feel like the “top” people – or my closest friends will show up in my feed – and maybe not that aunt or uncle who only posts once a month. I don’t want to miss out on any updates because Facebook doesn’t think it’s important to me.
I don’t like that the option of “Most Recent” has just been taken away. I hate that some computer is deciding what is important to me. Only I know what I want to see! Don’t tell me what to do Facebook!
Facebook better quit messing with a good thing. Before they know it, they’ll be Myspace.
Who’s with me!?

Dear John,
Let it go man. You’re bald. We all know it, you know it. It’s so much more attractive to be bald than use fake hair. Fake hair is NOT HOT.
Love,
Jocelyn
