I’m late to the Michael Fassbender appreciation party, but I’m here now, and I’m not going anywhere! He is pretty stinkin hot! He’s one of those guys that I know I’ve seen in movies before…. and then I watched ‘X-Men’. Now – I’m hooked.

Here he is promoting his new movie, ‘Shame’, which is a film about a sex addict (no comment).

Soaring above them all is Shame, Brit filmmaker Steve McQueen’s portrait of a sex addict starring Michael Fassbender (winner of Best Actor at Venice). Arguably TIFF’s hottest film (every sense), Shame not only deals with sex addiction, but leads with full frontal views of its stars Fassbender and Carey Mulligan — as if to say let’s get THAT out of the way — and then offers enough boobs, masturbation, internet porn, and bobbing and throbbing to delight Larry Flynt. At moments what language there is pushes the envelope even further.

Shame is also a spectacularly fine film (picked up in a much-publicized sale by Fox Searchlight) that displays the outsize talent of director Steve McQueen. While Fassbender’s searing portrayal of a handsome, tortured corporate type and sexoholic, more than justifies his win in Venice. The actor has traveled a ways since his recent Mr. Rochester in Jane Eyre.

Shame isn’t big on story, since story’s not really the point. Video-artist-turned-filmmaker McQueen brilliantly works the intersection of art, narrative, tone poem, and social critique to get into the skin of a man for whom sex is pure compulsion, his sole raison d’etre. Cast as a companion piece to McQueen’s first film, Hunger, about a man with no freedom, Shame examines a man with every western privilege who uses his body to create his own prison.

McQueen has stated in interviews that what partly inspired a film on sex addiction is all the porn available 24/7 on the internet — two clicks and you’re in. Yet for me Shame embraces a larger subject. The character of Brandon channels a type of hyper-detached urban male — perhaps most prevalent in the corporate and financial sectors — who by perpetually using others to serve his own needs, has become a monster — especially to himself. Though he’s dressed better and has a good job, Brandon is as lost as those riders in the subway. Fassbender has so gotten into the skin of this male mutant, it’s hard to imagine Shame without him. “Michael is a genius, really,” McQueen has said. “I want to work with the best actor there is, and I think he is, basically.”(MORE)

According to TMZ, a crew member on the “Charlie’s Angels” set has been fired after slapping Minka Kelly’s butt.

There’s a report out that the guy was holding a $100 bill when he slapped her, and that she retaliated later by slapping him, but our sources say that’s NOT true.

What did happen … according to sources directly connected to the production … is that the man did indeed slap Kelly, and sources at ABC tell us, she responded by telling him, “Please don’t ever disrespect me or any other woman like that again.”

Some of the witnesses told ABC honchos, and given the network’s zero-tolerance policy on sexual harassment, the dude was immediately banned from the set and subsequently fired.

We’re told Minka did not want to get the guy fired and had nothing to do with the decision — she was friendly with the man and upset that he lost his job after moving his family to town for the job.

And, ABC sources say, this was not an isolated incident — the guy had done it before to other women.

So you’re saying the guy’s an idiot…

Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds are reportedly planning a secret wedding.

The 47-year-old actress and the ‘Change-Up’ star – who split from Scarlett Johansson after two years of marriage in December 2010 – are believed to have recently vacationed in Wyoming, and while on vacation the pair discussed the idea of marriage after the actor bonded with her 20-month-old son Louis.

A source told America’s Star magazine: “Ryan told her he was ready to tie the knot whenever she wants. And after seeing how quickly she’s bonded with baby Louis, she decided she’s ready to pull the trigger, too.

“So they started discussing the logistics of pulling off a low-key, barefoot wedding that would reflect their laid-back lifestyle.”

Scarlett – who was briefly linked to Sean Penn following her divorce from Ryan – is reported to be happy for the pair.

A source said: “Since Scarlett likes and respects Sandra so much, it doesn’t bother her that she’s with Ryan now.”

Leighton Meester attended the HTC Serves Up NYC event, which was “a celebration of HTC’s new product with a unique combination of food with technology”.

The Season 5 premiere of her Leighton’s hit show “Gossip Girl” returns to the CW on Monday, September 26th at 8/7c.

The debut episode is titled “Yes Than Zero”. Here’s what the show’s website has to say about the premiere: “Serena loves her new job in Hollywood, but makes a costly misstep when she tries to impress her boss (guest star Michael Michele). Rihanna got cheeky with her fans yesterday in Brazil — when she greeted them wearing some crazy-short shorts!

The singer, who is still on the road with her Loud tour, was spotted yesterday on the balcony of her hotel in Rio de Janeiro, waving to all her fans below while dressed in a tank top and skimpy shorts.

“My Rio fans are CRAY!!!!!” she tweeted last night, “I hear u guys singing since lastnight!!!! I love u BRAZIL!!!”
