In an exclusive interview, R.E.M.’s Mike Mills tells Rolling Stone why the band decided to call it quits after 31 years. “It’s not because we have to or we can’t stand each other or we suck,” Mills says. “We’re happy. But we’re done.”
“There is sadness because I will never play on the same stage as Peter and Michael again,” Mills tells Rolling Stone’s David Fricke. Yet, Mills insists, “We’re doing this for good reasons, and we end up looking back at all the fun, the joy and the incredible opportunities we had.”
R.E.M. actually made their decision a few months ago, before they met in Athens, Georgia, this summer to record three new songs for a greatest-hits package. The band delayed the announcement because “a lot of people are affected by this decision in a serious way,” Mills says, referring to R.E.M.’s staff and crew. “We wanted everything set up the way it should be.”
Mills can’t remember when he, Buck and Stipe began seriously talking about the end of the band. “But it was discussed on the 2008 tour,” he says, and during the sessions for Collapse Into Now. The group was coming to the end of its Warner Bros. deal and chose not to tour behind that record. There are “indications” on the album, Mills notes, citing Stipe’s “lyrical content” in “All the Best.” “There are some straightforward see-you-laters on that one.”

Here’s another first-look at Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. When the first image of Anne’s Catwoman was released, a major uproar rang out. Fans of the comic HATED Anne’s costume. She wore these funny goggles – and sported no cat ears.
Anne herself weighed in on the controversy. She told MTV “If you didn’t like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do.”
In these new photos on set, Hathaway is wearing a Catwoman suit that should keep all the fans happy. Here we see the eye mask, the cat ears, and a tight leather catsuit.
I can’t wait to see this movie!!!!

Kat Von D and Jesse James couldn’t make it work this time around. I know you’re as shocked as I am. Earlier this year the two had a very nasty and public breakup, and shortly therafter, L.A. Ink was canceled. Woe is Kat. Anyway, the couple got back together – which they should have kept to themselves, but of course they couldn’t. Now that they’ve split AGAIN, Kat is announcing it to the world on her FB page.
Hey everyone!
I’m sure this will be the most “uneventful” blog I have ever written – but its purpose is simply to answer a lot of the reoccurring questions I’ve been getting asked lately – and I’m hoping this will answer them for you
I think maybe the final episode of LA Ink left things a bit confusing to some. So in a nutshell here goes:
1. I am not in any way moving to Texas. I am not opening up another tattoo shop. And I am not leaving my shop here in Los Angeles, High Voltage Tattoo.
2. I am not in a relationship. (And I apologize for all the “back and forth” if it’s caused any confusion)
3. I am in no way retiring – (what does that even mean anyway???)
4. My tattoo shop is not closing, and is open for business like always! (Same goes for my art gallery, Wonderland – next door to High Voltage Tattoo.)
5. As hard as it is to sometimes let go of the things you are so accustomed to doing, I am happy to have done LA Ink, but am even more excited about new upcoming ventures – and cant wait to eventually share more about this with you all!
That’s all. I told ya it would be uneventful…
Looks like Kat may have been confirming the rumors after Radar caught wind. They reported, “They are done, through and through finished, split, game over. They are both confident that they won’t be giving it another go. It’s the end of the road for them. I think it just fizzled out between them. They were hot and heavy to start, but once the sexual attraction started waning there wasn’t really anything left to sustain a relationship. Also, Kat didn’t really want to relocate to Austin from LA and neither of them really had the commitment to make a long distance relationship work.”

And the father is……….
Good question! The father of January Jones’ son continues to be a mystery, because the actress left a big ol’ blank spot on her son’s birth certificate where his name should have been.
TMZ obtained the document which shows January’s son Xander Dane Jones, was born on September 13, 2011. Many men have been rumored to be the father, including Jason Sudeikis, Bobby Flay, “X-Men” director Matthew Vaughn and “Seeking Justice” co-star Xander Berkeley.
Wonder if we’ll ever find out!

Could the tides be turning? Could Katherine Heigl be making smart career choices?
I’ll forget the fact that she’s doing ‘New Years Eve’ and fast forward to this film. I watched this trailer – and at the end of it something surprising happened. I didn’t hate it! Sure – it looks exactly like Jennifer Aniston’s ‘Bounty Hunter’ – but this actually looks half decent!
Heigl stars as Jersey girl Stephanie Plum, an unemployed Trenton gal who takes a job for her shady uncle’s bail bonds company, recovering assets — aka people — to bring in cash. It’s a film adaptation of a 17-book series by author Janet Evanovich, and gives Heigl the chance to move away from romcoms (though she’ll be in the upcoming “New Year’s Eve”) and TV drama. The film is still considered a comedy, but it has an edge to the character that most of her previous work has not.

Rumors have been swirling about Regis Philbin entering the reality television world after he leaves his daytime show Live with Regis and Kelly, but the veteran host says that is certainly not true.
“That came out but it’s not true!” Regis exclaimed. “I went out with a camera to do a little two-minute thing to just get the feel. And uh, it’s not for me. I guess it’s not for me. It didn’t feel right.
“But there was never a pilot made,” he added. “But you know how these things grow.”
“It was an experiment more or less,” Joy explained.
“Yeah, really! It was an experiment for a couple of hours one afternoon and then they edited it all together to two minutes,” Regis said. “Not yet.”
As far as who he would like to have as his last interview:
“Well you said the other day that there was one person you’ve never interviewed that you always wanted to interview and that was Barbra Streisand,” Joy said. “You think maybe she would consent to come around?”
“I think in my eyes she’s — because of when we have seen and met over the years — one of the last great entertainers, entertaining in ways we like to be entertained.”
“So it’s very difficult. You know we were at a party with her a couple weeks ago and there was somebody else asking her to do his show, you know. I never would have asked her anyways,” he said. “It can never come from me. But if you’re asking me who’s left, who would I like to, it would be Barbra Streisand.”
