She grew up in my hometown! And with drag queens! Who knew?

Rose McGowan has been a longtime activist for the gay community. Her childhood could have something to do with that. Rose was born in Italy as a member of the cult, Church of God. She returned to the US at the age of 10 – and left home shortly after that.

“At 13, when I was a runaway, I was taken in by the most amazing drag queens in Portland, Ore,” McGowan says. “We didn’t always know where our next meal was coming from, but there was so much camaraderie and love. Not to mention, those girls could paint a face, and I learned how because of them.”

The “Charmed” star, who next stars in “Conan the Barbarian,” details fun times that she had with her guardians — and the way in which they impact her to this day.

“I could finagle my way into lots of different places,” she says about whether she could get into night clubs despite her young age. “Whether it was how I danced or the way I looked, I was always quite celebrated in the gay clubs. To this day, I only go to gay clubs. I’m perfectly at home there. I also like watching hot boys and hot girls who can dance.”

That being said, as hard as she tries, she doesn’t find herself attracted to women. Off-screen, at least.

“I disappoint myself. I’ve never even kissed a girl. Isn’t that funny? The girls I think are cute look like guys, but then I think, But if they open their shirt, they’ll have breasts,” she muses. “I’d be stoked to do a lesbian love scene. When asked if I’ve kissed a girl, I could finally say, ‘Why, yes, I have. And I got paid.’”

McGowan is in the middle of a busy period in her career; she’s set for a guest role on “Law & Order: SVU,” will lead in the thriller, “Rosewood Lane,” star with Heather Graham and Kim Basinger in the comedy, “Fortune,” and star in the big screen adaptation of the Sylvia Plath novel, “The Bell Jar,” with Julia Stiles.

Roseanne Barr is coming back to comedy TV – after a decade long hiatus!

While her official TV series comeback has been a little nuts — macadamia, to be exact — Roseanne Barr is now in the process of returning to her true wheelhouse.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Emmy-winning actress, whose sitcom “Roseanne” spent much of the 1990s as the number one show in the ratings, is plotting a comeback to the scripted comedy series. Barr and 20th Century Fox are developing, “Downwardly Mobile,” which is described as “a close-knit blue-collar family living in tough economic times.”

If that sounds familiar, it’s no accident; Barr has dedicated much of her life to bringing a portrait of real working class Americans to a normally glamorous Hollywood.

“Call me immodest–moi?–but I honestly think ‘Roseanne’ is even more ahead of its time today, when Americans are, to use a technical term from classical economics, screwed,” Barr recently wrote for NY Magazine in a longer feature about her struggle to control the direction of her show. “We had our fun; it was a sitcom. But it also wasn’t ‘The Brady Bunch’; the kids were wiseasses, and so were the parents. I and the mostly great writers in charge of crafting the show ­every week never forgot that we needed to make people laugh, but the struggle to survive, and to break taboos, was equally important. And that was my goal from the beginning.”

Currently, Barr stars in the aforementioned reality series, “Roseanne’s Nuts,” which focuses on her Hawaii macadamia nut farm. Chelsea Handler recently revealed that she’s asked Barr to guest star on some episodes of her mid-season replacement sitcom, “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea,” as her aunt.

I try sooooooooo hard to like Gwynnie, but then she goes and opens her mouth. From what I’ve found online this hand-painted wallpaper she MUST HAVE costs a whopping $12,000 PER ROOM.

Act, cook, write, sing: Gwyneth Paltrow famously loves to do it all. So it comes as no surprise to hear that she is also a serious design buff. Last year, she and her husband, rocker Chris Martin of the band Coldplay, combined two London townhouses with the help of his architect brother, Al Martin. They restored the period details and added such funky touches as a rumpus room for the couple’s two children and a skull-and-crossbones motif on the library’s mantel.
