Bret Michaels, frontman for the famed rock band ‘Poison,’ is suing Shoreline Tours partners Tim Towle and Willie Donwell, for what he says was an attempt to pull a fraudulent “bait and switch” scheme.
Donwell hired Michaels to give two concert performances on a cruise ship, billed as the Bret Michaels Rock Your World Super Cruise, in exchange for a $750,000 fee. Michaels claims Shoreline never intended to pay the fee, but instead attempted to coerce him to reduce his fee by $400,000, after Michael’s spent substantial time and money preparing for the event.
Ultimately, the cruise was canceled and promoters blamed poor ticket sales, but Bret said it was simply because Tim and Willie didn’t pay him in full as stated in the contract. He’s suing for unspecified damages.
“Real Housewives” star Melissa Gorga is following in Kim Zolciak, LuAnn de Lesseps and Danielle Staub’s footsteps and releasing a new single. The New Jersey reality star/aspiring singer debuted her new single “On Display” on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show Friday morning.
You might think twice about accepting a job as Paula Abdul’s assistant after reading this story. According to sources, the 49-year-old X Factor judge has some crazy demands.
Each assistant must carry and use a tape recorder at all times “because she doesn’t trust her own conversations,” the source says.
“She also makes them check the TiVo for any mention of her and put it on a DVD.”
Abdul team members should also prepare to go through her email — and respond to family and friends as the star herself.
The “Forever Your Girl” singer also needed constant reminders that she is a “warrior, survivor and gift,” adds the insider.
This is so insane it’s funny. I really hope it is true. I like the thought of people running around behind her with a water bottle saying “Here you go, gift…you’re such a survivor, warrior.”
Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy lead an all-star cast in Tower Heist, a comedy caper about working stiffs who seek revenge on the Wall Street swindler who stiffed them. After the workers at a luxury Central Park condominium discover the penthouse billionaire has stolen their retirement, they plot the ultimate revenge: a heist to reclaim what he took from them.
Queens native Josh Kovacs (Stiller) has managed one of the most luxurious and well-secured residences in New York City for more than a decade. Under his watchful eye, nothing goes undetected. In the swankiest unit atop Josh’s building, Wall Street titan Arthur Shaw (Alan Alda) is under house arrest after being caught stealing two billion from his investors. The hardest hit among those he defrauded? The tower staffers whose pensions he was entrusted to manage.
With only days before Arthur gets away with the perfect crime, Josh’s crew turns to petty crook Slide (Murphy) to plan the nearly impossible…to steal what they are sure is hidden in Arthur’s guarded condo. Though amateurs, these rookie thieves know the building better than anyone. Turns out they’ve been casing the place for years, they just didn’t know it.
I love both these guys – hope the movie is good! This is Eddie Murphy’s first “grown-up” movie since 2006′s ‘Dreamgirls’. Since then he’s been in Shrek and other various childrens movies. I think he’s hilarious, so it’ll be nice to see him in something more like his ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ roles.
Seems like an odd movie for Matthew Broderick, no?
Johnny Depp (pictured, with Amber Heard) stars as a writer at a Puerto Rico newspaper in the ’50s-set The Rum Diary, an adaptation of Hunter S. Thompson’s novel. The actor was a friend of the late author’s and played him in 1998′s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. He shot Rum Diary — which hits cinemas Oct. 28 — before Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, but deliberately delayed its release. ”You can’t open it next to some blockbuster thing,” he says. ”It’s a special little film.”
Premise: Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp) is an itinerant journalist who tires of New York and America under the Eisenhower administration and travels to Puerto Rico to write for The San Juan Star. Kemp begins the habit of drinking rum and becomes obsessed with the woman Chenault (Amber Heard).
I’m pretty sure I love ALL Johnny Depp movies! Can’t wait!
