Joel McHale Not Allowed To Tease Kardashian Sisters

Joel MacHale, funnyman and host of E!’s ‘The Soup,’ tells Just Jared that though many take his jokes in stride, the Kardashian sisters aren’t among that group.

“I know the Kardashians don’t like me,” he says. “Reality stars without exception have come up to me and have said, ‘Thank you for making fun of me.’ We made so much fun of Jake Pavelka, and he responded by coming on the show. With the Kardashians, we’re not allowed to say they have a sex tape anymore because the network flips out.”

As much as Kim, Kourtney and Khloe dislike him, they haven’t gotten as bad a Tyra Banks:

“She was the only one that tried to make us not feature her show on ours, but then she changed her tune, and then she went off the air, much to our great disappointment.”

Kim Kardashian Beefs Up Wedding Security

If just happen to be planning on crashing the wedding of the century year, think again. Kim Kardashian and clan are prepared for any and everything, and they have the security team to prove it:

Wedding crashers BEWARE — Kim Kardashian’s party planning team is taking drastic measures to keep uninvited guests OUT … with security treating the event “as if it was the White House.”

Sources connected to the wedding tell TMZ … party crashers are being treated as a serious threat … and not only will security constantly patrol the grounds at the Montecito estate … but we’re told they’ll also get support from the sky … in the form of roaming choppers.

We’re told the majority of the wedding festivities will take place either indoors or under tents to thwart the paparazzi  — because the Kardashians don’t want the footage to leak out before their special airs on TV.

Ah, good ol’ choppers to set the mood.

‘West Memphis 3′ Freed, Cannot Sue For Imprisonment

Now that the infamous ‘West Memphis 3′ have been freed, it’s now being reported that Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin cannot sue the state for their time in prison, because the trio struck a deal and pled guilty to the charges, preventing them from ever winning a civil lawsuit.

[Lead Prosecutor] Scott Ellington explained at a news conference today that because all three men pled guilty, the State is insulated from any lawsuits the men might file … seeking damages for being locked up for crimes they previously insisted they did not commit.

Damages in such a suit could easily rise into the tens of millions of dollars.

The deal doesn’t prevent the WM3 from FILING a lawsuit — however, the prosecutor believes any judge would simply throw such a case out before it went anywhere.

Dr. Conrad Murray’s Legal Team Asks For Jury to Be Sequestered

Dr. Conrad Murray‘s (yeah, remember him?) attorney’s have recently filed papers, asking that the court sequester the jury during his Michael Jackson manslaughter trial. They claim that it will protect him from “Nancy Grace type assassainations.”

In legal papers obtained by TMZ, Dr. Murray’s lawyers argue the only reason the Anthony jurors were untainted was because they were sequestered.  According to the docs, the networks, and in particular Nancy Grace, were well aware of the ratings boost from the trial, and Grace and others engaged in “nonstop on-air abuse of not only the defendant, but the jurors and defense attorneys involved.”

The legal docs claim, “There is reasonable expectation that Dr. Murray’s trial will be the most publicized in history,” and that of the several hundred jurors who were polled during jury selection, only one claimed not to have heard of the Murray case, and she didn’t speak English.

Judge Michael Pastor said last month he would consider sequestering the jury, although he felt it was unnecessary and too expensive.

Bravo Cleans Up ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ Before Airing

The Bravo network is making sure they do some cleaning up before the next season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs, because it’s being reported that they are editing every portion of footage that involves Russell and Taylor Armstrong:

Bravo is in the process of re-editing the second season of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” due to Russell Armstrong‘s suicide … according to the network.

The turmoil between Russell and Taylor Armstrong was a key storyline on the show’s first season — and sources have told us Russell was concerned about being portrayed as a villain.

A network exec says no decision has been made about the premiere date of the show — which is currently scheduled for Sept. 5.

Lindsay Lohan Sues Rapper Pitbull

Lindsay Lohan has just filed a suit again rapper Pitbull for a line in his hit some ‘Give Me Everything’ where he mentions that actress in what she says are “disparaging” lyrics:

The song — written by Ne-Yo and Afrojack, also defendants — has a line:

Hustlers move aside, so I’m tiptoein’, to keep flowin’
I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan.

Lindsay is pissed, claiming in her lawsuit … “the lyrics, by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.”

Lindsay, who claims in the lawsuit she is “a professional actor of good repute and standing in the Screen Actors Guild, is suing under the New York civil rights laws, which protects people from having their name exploited for commercial purposes.

Lindsay alleges the appearance of her name in the song “causes [Lindsay] to be associated and identified in connection with defendants.”

The suit — filed by Stephanie Ovadia — seeks an injunction to stop all of the defendants from broadcasting the song.  It also seeks unspecified damages.  Ovadia is the same lawyer who filed the E*TRADE lawsuit on Lindsay’s behalf, which settled for a confidential sum.

Dear Lindsay, you’ve become the punch line for every other joke in Hollywood. You can’t sue everybody. Plus, you were “locked up.” It’s not like Pitbull lied.

Sugarland Plays First Show Since Tragedy

Last week in Indiana, Sugarland was devasted when their stage collapsed and killed 5 people, During their first performance since the tragedy, the group asked for a moment of silence in remembrance for the lives lost:

Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush took a moment of silence for their injured fans and “the beautiful lives that were lost.” Their instruments were also lost in the tragedy as the duo played for the crowd with new instruments.

Earlier in the week they explained on their website, ”This incredible machine is more than a tour and more than a set.” Looking to music for strength, they indicated, “We have always celebrated music as a healer.”

“Words, too may provide comfort for the families who lost loved ones at the state fair. They added, ”Our road family experienced its traumas together. While we all scattered to our given families for their comfort, the trauma we experienced together binds us in a unique way that we share only with each other, and those who were there.”
