Rebecca Black, who gained fame with her YouTube hit “Friday” is about to release a new single. The new song, “My Moment” will drop on July 18th according to MTV.
The song will be titled “My Moment,” and you don’t have to venture too far to guess what it’ll be about. That’s right, because she’s clearly been around long enough now to be self-referential, the single will tell “the story of her sudden rise to fame,” according to a statement. “It’s a fairy tale story, but it happened in real life.”
The video, though, is probably what everyone is wondering about, given that her first clip was so darn memorable. Will the video for “My Moment” be as intriguing? Sadly, unlikely; early reports imply that it will include images from her real life, like her attending red-carpet events and receiving an award at her junior high school.
But wait! There’s more: Black is also set to drop a five-track EP in August. Few details have trickled out about what that release will include. But we did get this little teaser from her earlier this year: “I really like Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Selena Gomez; all just the fun upbeat stuff, teenager songs,” she told MTV. “My dream duet would be Justin Bieber. Even just doing something with Taylor Swift, or any of my favorite artists would be so cool.” So, basically, pop music?
She had ONE SONG. Does that really qualifiy as a “rise to fame”?
The thing that’s so sad is she really became famous off of being just plain annoying. Not that eager to hear the rest of her five-tracks.
Sorry, Black Eyed Peas fans, the band has just announced they’re taking an “indefinite break” from making music.
At their Alton Towers show in Staffordshire earlier this week, the band announced that they would be taking an ‘indefinite break’ from making music together. Fergie told the audience that this show is “very special” because it is “last time we’re going to be in England for a long time.”
The band’s frontman tried to soothe fans by saying, “We want you to know that we love you and thank you for the support you’ve given from the beginning.” The band has a history of lengthy sabbaticals, their last one being 2005-2009, and she reassured fans that this ‘break’ is not a break up. “This isn’t going to be the last time you’ll see us,” she said.
Fergie was not the only one saying they’ll be back. Bandmate will.i.am tweeted “The @Bep will take a break after the beginning…just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d…but it doesn’t mean we stop creating.”
I’m not especially heartbroken over the news. You?
Rachel Zoe, who gave birth to son Skyler three months ago, went shopping in Malibu yesterday with her nanny. If there ever was any baby weight – it’s not there anymore!
Look at her ribcage! I know she’s always been skinny, but this is just plain gross!
Britney Spears is one lucky lady today. The licensing company suing the singer for breach of contract has just suffered a major setback in the case, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.
On Monday morning, a Los Angeles judge denied a request by lawyers for Brand Sense to force the Toxic singer to be deposed in the case. The reason is because Spears is still under conservatorship.
Brand Sense is suing the singer and her father, Jamie Spears, for allegedly stopping payment of royalties from Britney’s wildly successful Elizabeth Arden fragrance range. The deal with Elizabeth Arden was brokered by Brand Sense and they are now suing for breach of contract and are seeking $10 million in damages because the licensing company says it stopped receiving their thirty-five percent commission that was agreed as part of the contract terms.
Brand Sense stated in legal docs, “A ruling the plaintiffs heartedly dispute — the court docs state: “Brand Sense intends to seek immediate relief from the probate court’s order. The notion that Britney Spears is mentally or emotionally unfit to testify under oath is a sham. Ms. Spears currently has the mental, emotional and physical capacity to endure the strain of a months-long international concert tour, make numerous public appearances, engage in interviews with the media, participate in numerous promotional campaigns for her various business enterprises, and maintain custody of her children.”
The lawyers for Brand Sense said they would appeal the decision.
On another note, look how skinny her waist is! Somebody cut back on her Cheetos!

Mila Kunis has agreed to go to a Marine Corps. Ball alongside Sgt. Scott Moore after seeing his invitation online.
Sgt. Scott Moore, of the 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines in Musa Qala, Afghanistan, posted a video to YouTube last week asking the “Friends with Benefits” star to accompany him to the Marine Corps. Ball on November 18th in Greenville, North Carolina. It may have seemed a longshot at first, but thanks to the power of the internet, he now has a very famous date.
Fox News asked Kunis, who was with co-star Justin Timberlake at the time, if she had seen the video, and whether she’d attend the ball.
Timberlake, ever the ladies man, helped make it happen.
“Have you seen this? Have you heard about this? You need to do it for your country,” he told her. And even though Timberlake said he wouldn’t come along, Kunis confirmed that she’d be attending.
“I’ll do it,” she said, setting up what will most definitely be the flashiest couple in North Carolina this November.
I wonder if she actually WILL do it. It’s one thing to be put on the spot by Justin Timberlake on national TV – and another to actually follow through on your word.
