Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver’s 13-year-old son is in serious condition in a Los Angeles-area hospital following an accident on a beach in Malibu.

A source close to Shriver confirms that Christopher Schwarzenegger was boogie boarding on Sunday, when something went wrong and he suffered a collapsed lung, broken bones and broken ribs. His mother was with him on the beach, says the source.

“Christopher has been in ICU since Sunday,” a source tells PEOPLE. “Maria has not left his side and is sleeping at hospital.”

Schwarzenegger has visited as well. Christopher’s injuries were first reported by TMZ.com

Demi Lovato set to release a new album on September 20th!

Dark days seem to be a thing of the past for Demi Lovato. Just a week after topping the iTunes chart with her power ballad “Skyscraper,” the 18-year-old Disney starlet appeared ready to get back into the swing of things by catching up with some of her loyal Lovatics during a live chat with fans. On Thursday night, the comeback kid answered a number of questions about her new single and touring plans and made a special announcement regarding her forthcoming album.

“I hope you’re screaming and jumping down in your room right now because I’m about to tell you when my album is releasing,” a giddy Lovato said from a Los Angeles recording studio, before revealing the September 20 release date.

When asked about details regarding the sound of the project, the singer admitted she’s left behind her days of pop rock to focus more on a vibe that will showcase her vocals, as heard on “Skyscraper,” adding, “I’m feeling really, really comfortable on what we have so far.”

With “about 20-something” new tracks already recorded, it’s expected that the teen star will hit the road for a tour to promote the album. Lovato dropped a few sly hints, saying, “If I was to tour, I would announce it soon and maybe, possibly, I’m in the works of putting together a tour. Maybe. And maybe it’ll be all around the world. I don’t know. I’m just saying.”

Lovato also opened up about her Mark Pellington-directed visual for “Skyscraper,” where she emotionally belts out the tune in a bright desert. “I had to go to that place in my mind that I was in when I recorded the song, so it was very emotional. It was actually a very intimate set. There wasn’t very many people there. We took a plane with about 15 people and that was it. We went to the middle of a desert and shot this music video. … It turns out to be my favorite video I’ve done and hopefully you guys feel the same.”

Like teen counterpart Selena Gomez, Lovato has decided to tap into her heritage by recording a Spanish-language version of her new song “Skyscraper.”

What in the world is wrong with Robert Pattinson’s hair!? His head is shaved on one side! What the heck? I really hope this is done for a movie or something, and he’s not trying to start a new hair fad. That looks ridiculous!

Robert Pattinson showed off his wacky, lopsided hairdo to fans at Comic-Con in San Diego on Thursday. Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner joined the Twilight hunk to discuss Breaking Dawn – Part 1, which hits theaters Nov. 18.

Pattinson’s crazy, half-shaved haircut — which is long and floppy on one side, raggedly buzzed on the other — is for his role in the trippy thriller Cosmopolis. In one scene of the film, he freaks out mid-haircut and flees the NYC barber shop before the process is complete.

In Breaking Dawn, Pattinson, 25, is back playing Edward Cullen on the silver screen. Stewart, 21, returns as Bella Swan; she becomes pregnant with Edward’s child and then delivers a half-vampire, half-human baby. At a press conference, the cast described the birth scenes as “hardcore” and “graphic.”

“For a fantasy series that’s aimed at a young audience, it goes quite far,” Pattinson said. “It’s quite graphic. There’s no way to do it in any kind of tame way.”

Stewart agreed: “It’s not your typical birthing scene. It took two days to shoot, two days of labor. In the book, there’s this part where she’s literally choking on blood that she’s been drinking, and [she's] out of her mind.”
