Even though the cause of death was not disclosed after Amy Winehouse’s autopsy, the coroner’s orders suggests the singer may have “died a violent or unnatural death.”

A formal inquest has been opened to investigate her death.

An inquest into Amy Winehouse’s death has been opened and adjourned until October 26, a London coroner said Monday, as a lengthy investigation into the singer’s death begins in Britain.

Sharon Duff, a coroner at St Pancras Coroner’s Court in North London, said that a “Section 20″ postmortem had been carried out on the body of the 27-year old singer, who died Saturday, but Duff did not disclose any of its findings.

In British postmortem cases where a sudden death is deemed not suspicious and the Coroner believes that no inquest is necessary, he or she can order a Section 19 Post Mortem under the terms of the 1988 Coroner’s Act in Britain.

A Section 20 postmortem, as Winehouse had, however, implies that the Coroner believes “there is reasonable cause to suspect that a person has died a violent or unnatural death or in any other way which would require an inquest,” according to guidelines. It suggests that the authorities are mounting a more lengthy and serious investigation into the circumstances around Winehouse’s death, although the Coroner also reported that at the scene had been investigated by police and “determined non-suspicious.”

At a brief two-minute hearing on Monday, Duff told St Pancras Coroner’s Court:

“I bring before you the death of Amy Jade Winehouse aged 27, born on the 14th September 1983 in London. She was a divorced woman living in Camden Square NW1. She was certified dead at her home by a paramedic and a doctor on July 23. She was a singer songwriter at the time of her death and was identified by her family here at St Pancras this morning. A section 20 post mortem has been carried out and histology and toxicology taken to determine the cause of death. The scene was investigated by police and determined non-suspicious.”

Assistant Deputy Coroner Suzanne Greenaway also said: “I’m formally opening this inquest. I’m issuing interim certificates to allow Miss Winehouse’s family to make arrangements for the funeral.”

Mom-of-six Angelina Jolie was spotted buying some flowers with her youngest daughter Vivienne, 3, in London on Saturday.

Kim Kardashian celebrated her Bachelorette party this weekend in Las Vegas. Kim partied at the exclusive Tao nightclub where she had hired scantily clad female dancers and a stripping dwarf, reports the UK’s Daily Mail.

The reality star, who is set to marry NBA player Kris Humphries, partied with sisters Khloe, Kourtney and mother Kris while enjoying a selection of extravagant cakes and champagne. Meanwhile, Humphries was celebrating his stag do at the nearby Lavo club before Kim gate-crashed her husband-to-be’s party at around 2am. She joined Humphries, Lamar Odom and Scott Disick in the exclusive Vip area for around 10 minutes before leaving him alone for the rest of the evening. Kim, who had arrived into Vegas by private jet, donned a beige leather dress with matching heels and tiara for the evening. Other celebrities at the bash included Lala Vasquez Anthony, Brittny Gastineau and her future sister-in-law Kaela Humphries. Speaking on Twitter the following morning, Kim told followers, “Amazing nite! DJVice killed it! The ladies shut down Tao”.

According to reports, Kardashian will tie the knot with Humphries in California on 20th August 2011.

Kim Kardashian ended her whirlwind bachelorette weekend at The Venetian and The Palazzo today by relaxing at The Pools at The Palazzo with a customized bachelorette experience by Azure Luxury Pool, complete with gift bags and cuisine by Wolfgang Puck. The party, including sister Kourtney and future sister-in-law Khaela Humphries, sipped on frozen cocktails and snacked on a three-foot-tall cupcake tree from Sweet Surrender topped with a “Bachelorette Princess” sugar decoration.

Reality TV star Kristin Cavallari has been dumped by her Chicago Bears QB fiance Jay Butler. The star is said to be “devastated” over the relationship ending. The picture above was taken only a week ago when the couple vacationed in Miami, Florida. You know now that you mention it, he doesn’t look too happy!

This is not the fairy-tale ending Kristin Cavallari was hoping for. After just 10 months together, Cavallari and Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler have called off their engagement, a source confirms to PEOPLE.

“She got dumped,” says another source. “She’s absolutely devastated. She can’t believe this is happening.”

The couple, who were planning a spring wedding, became engaged in April, when Cutler popped the question in Mexico. They had been spending much of their time recently in Chicago, and Cavallari had planned to move there during the upcoming football season.

“She was planning her dream wedding, the date was set, the location – everything was set,” the source says. “She’s in shock that the dream wedding she was planning is going to end this way.”

Just a week ago, Cavallari Tweeted about her engagement party. “Thx to all my amazing friends for making my engagement party a blast last night!” she wrote.

The couple had completed their wedding registry, and Cavallari was determined to be in great shape for the wedding. Saturday night Cavallari hit The Beverly, an L.A. lounge, and was spotted without her engagement ring.

“She was hanging out at a table with Nicky Hilton and Alessandra Ambrosio,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She was telling friends how they called off the engagement.”

A rep for Cavallari had no comment.
