Sony Pictures is moving forward on its much speculated Salt sequel. Kurt Wimmer has begun writing it for Angelina Jolie to reprise her role as Evelyn Salt, the CIA agent who spent the first movie running for her life after being outed as a Russian spy. The studio smartly left open a window for a possible sequel at the climax of the original, which was directed by Phillip Noyce.
Now, Universal Pictures tried to draft a sequel of Wanted and it didn’t happen. This is different. Jolie wants to do to do the Salt sequel if it comes together right. I’m told that Wimmer has officially signed on and is working away. The original grossed around $300 million worldwide for Sony Pictures.
Alcatraz follows Rebecca Madsen, a police officer (Sarah Jones), and Dr. Diego Soto (Jorge Garcia), a “hippy geek” who is the world’s foremost expert on Alcatraz. Both will investigate the reappearance of 302 wardens and prisoners of Alcatraz in modern day, after their mysterious disappearance fifty years ago.
Jessica Alba stepped out last night for the CFDA Awards wearing a God-awful Diane Von Furstenberg gown. I don’t mind the colors, but the dress itself is horrible! The fit is wretched! If the top were snug against her skin, the bottom would look better.
Kirsten Dunst showed up at last night’s CFDA Awards wearing a Patrik Ervell tux. While I love how a suit looks on a girl, this one I’m not a huge fan of. I think if she had chosen a different top, I would have liked it. The shirt is too rigid looking, buttoned all the way to the top. Paired with the tight bun, she just looks stiff. I think maybe even if she would have unbuttoned the top, it would look better.
