As Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge begin their North American tour, they will kick it off by celebrating Canada Day (July 1) in Canada, of course!
They’ll be on Ottawa’s Parliament Hill, to be precise, for ceremonies kicking off at 12:07 p.m., it was announced Tuesday.
With a Royal Canadian Mountain Police escort, the couple will be greeted by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his family – wife Laureen and their children Ben and Rachel – as well as Canadian Heritage Minister James Moore, reports the Ottawa Citizen. Other VIPs include Governor General David Johnston and his wife, Sharon.
In addition to a 21-gun salute, a CF-18 fighter-jet flyover and renditions of “O Canada” and “God Save the Queen,” the hour-long ceremony will include performances by Sam Roberts, Great Big Sea and Maria Aragon, a 10-year-old from Winnipeg who earlier this year performed a duet with Lady Gaga in Toronto.
Prince William is scheduled to deliver a brief speech at 1:14 ET, before he and Kate tour Parliament.
Other stops on the couple’s Canadian tour, which kicks off June 30, include Montreal, Quebec City, Charlottetown and Summerside, P.E.I., Yellowknife and Calgary.
On July 8, William and Kate will be heading to the United States… to CALIFORNIA!

So Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris‘ engagement and wedding have been called off. In case you didn’t know, Life & Style magazine reported back in March that Crystal, while in a relationship with Hugh, had been dating Jordan McGraw, son of Phil McGraw aka Dr. Phil.
As Life & Style first reported in March, Crystal had been dating her songwriting partner and the son of Dr. Phil behind fiancé Hef’s back. Life & Style first spotted the 24-year-old lovebirds cozying up at the Chateau Marmont in LA on March 14. While Crystal attempted to keep their romance low-profile, Jordan didn’t care to hide his affections and was kissing her shoulder and trying to hold her hand – which was still adorned with her 6-carat engagement ring. The pair met through the Organica Music Group, where Jordan worked with Crystal as a songwriter.
Crystal and Hef, who got engaged in December, were only days away from their June 18 wedding date. “Crystal informed me of the news this morning and that the decision to call off the wedding was mutual,” Crystal’s manager, Michael Blakey, President of Organica Music Group, tells Life & Style. “The split was amicable and I’m happy to say that Crystal and Hef will remain close friends.”

And ironic that the son-of-a-psychologist-slash-family-counseling-TV-host would be a part of this Hollywood scandal relationship breakup!

We’ve seen heart-throbbing prince Justin Timberlake everywhere… ‘SNL,’ movies… but what has happened to JT as a song artist?
“I don’t have a single song ready to go,”Timberlake recently told Playboy. “People keep asking me when a new song or album is coming out, and I don’t know what to say. Music is not my focus right now. It may be someday. It could happen next month or next year but right now it’s not where it’s at for me.”
Of course, that conflicts with what Timberlake told our reporter back in March, when he suggested that he always has something musical up his sleeve. “I feel like I’m always writing music and working on songs,” he said. ”But to make an album, you have to find a group of songs that speak to something that might not be on the radio currently and make sense for you personally. It’s right around the corner, I think.”
Outside of a few guest appearances and the occasional tag-team with Andy Samberg, Timberlake hasn’t recorded any proper music since 2006′s Grammy-winningFutureSex/LoveSounds. In the interim, he has carved himself quite an acting career, gaining good critical and popular marks in mainstream stuff (Yogi Bear, The Love Guru) and artier fare (The Social Network, Southland Tales).
In case you didn’t know, JT has two upcoming feature films, Bad Teacher (with Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel), and Friends With Benefits (with Mila Kunis).

Talk show guru Montel Williams got another job! This time, he’s a consultant at an upscale marijuana dispensary in Sacramento, California… and he hopes to put medical marijuana use in a good light.
Montel — an outspoken proponent of medical marijuana use — took the job hoping to create a store that runs more like a pharmacy and less like a shady back-alley head shop.
During a news conference yesterday, Montel announced his partnership with the Albatin Wellness Cooperative — and said, “We want to provide safe access [to marijuana] for patients and really medicalize this. Patients should be put first.”
Montel said he’ll be “involved at every level of the cooperative, from the philosophical direction down to the blueprints.”
He added, “I want this to be someplace your mother and father could see themselves walk into.”
Williams was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in the late 90s — and credits pot with alleviating his near-constant neurological pain.
