TRAILER TIME!! First look at Brad Pitt in ‘Moneyball’!

I got the biggest goosebumps watching this trailer, you have no idea! I have always loved baseball movies, I don’t know why – because I hate sports. The whole underdog coming out for the big win in the end kills me every time!

Add Brad Pitt to the mix – and hell yeah!

Entertainment Tonight got the first look at ‘Moneyball’ which stars Brad Pitt as Billy Beane, a baseball coach to uses a different method for finding players. Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jonah Hill, Robin Wright, and Robin Wright also star.

Based on the 2003 New York Times Bestseller by Michael Lewis, ‘Moneyball’ has been in the works for quite some time. Unfortunately, it has hit a few snags along the way.

First the film was postponed three days before production was scheduled to begin. After that, Steven Soderbergh, who was originally supposed to direct the baseball flick, was dropped by Sony who apparently didn’t like the approach he was taking. Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin was then called in to rewrite the script, and eventually Bennett Miller (‘Capote’) was chosen to direct.

After all that, we still have hopes that the final product will turn out OK. Watch below for some footage of the film — it’s not much, but at least we get to see Pitt in action as he portrays Oakland A’s general manager, Billy Beane.

‘Moneyball’ is scheduled for a Sept. 23 release date.

Hugh Jackman eyes role in ‘Les Miserables’ big screen adaption!

42-year-old Hugh Jackman walked out of his NYC gym yesterday afternoon looking huge!

In other Hugh news – it was announced yesterday that he is in talks to star in a big-screen musical adaption of the Broadway play ‘Les Miserables’.

Hugh Jackman is in talks to star in a big-screen musical adaptation of “Les Miserables” for Oscar-winning “King’s Speech” director Tom Hooper.

Jackman would play Jean Valjean, the man who steals bread to feed his sister and spends the ensuing years in prison (or trying to escape it) while also becoming the guardian of a young woman named Cosette, all against the backdrop of the French Revolution.

William Nicholson wrote the script. The Working Title/Universal project is based on the Victor Hugo book but best known to millions as one of the longest-running musicals around.

Les Miz, as it’s lovably known, would be the first time that Jackman, a singer and dancer with a Tony Award for his role in “The Boy from Oz,” would perform on the big screen. The actor was scheduled to reprise his “X-Men” spin-off role as Wolverine in a sequel that was to have shot later this year, but the lack of a director on the project has thrown a wrench into that timetable.

Goldie Hawn to star in HBO comedy by ‘Sex and the City’ creator Darren Star!

Goldie Hawn is headed back to TV! It’s her first TV show since 1970. I love Goldie, so I can’t wait for this to come out!

HBO and Darren Star are back in business with The Viagra Diaries, a comedy project based on the book by Barbara Rose Brooker.

The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that the Sex and the City creator/executive producer is writing the script for the comedy project, which would star Goldie Hawn as a woman, who after her husband has a midlife crisis at 65 and leaves her, struggles with being single for the first time in 35 years.

Aaron Kaplan, Wendy, Peter and Alan Riche will executive produce alongside Star and Hawn. Should the project be picked up to series, the role would mark Hawn’s first regular TV series gig since 1970.

Viagra Diaries marks Hawn’s first acting project since 2002’s The Banger Sisters.

Love it!

Russell Crowe joins ‘Superman’ movie playing Jor-El!

Russell Crowe has signed on to play Jor-El, Superman’s father – in ‘Man of Steel’, the reboot helmed by Zack Snyder!

The cast for Zack Snyder’s Superman reboot film, “Man of Steel,” got even deeper and more accomplished on Wednesday, as Oscar winner Russell Crowe is set to join the star-studded epic, Variety reports.

Crowe would play Jor-El, Superman’s biological father from Krypton. In the Christopher Reeve-starring movies, Jor-El, played by Marlon Brando, appears in the crystals in Superman’s arctic hideaway, though there’s plenty of other options for both birth scenes and flashbacks.

Snyder emphasized the ability to move away from those films in a March interview with the Los Angeles Times.

“Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we’re making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there’s been no other Superman movies,” Snyder told the paper. “If you look at ‘Batman Begins,’ there’s that structure: there’s the canon that we know about and respect, but on other hand there’s this approach that pre-supposes that there haven’t been any other movies. In every aspect of design and of story, the whole thing is very much from that perspective of ‘Respect the canon but don’t be a slave to the movies.’”

Crowe will join Kevin Costner, who plays Clark Kent’s earth-bound dad, as fathers to the eventual Superman, to be played by “Immortals” star Henry Cavill. Diane Lane will play Ma Kent, while Amy Adams is perfectly cast as Lois Lane.

On the evil side of things, “Boardwalk Empire” star Michael Shannon will take on the role of General Zod.
