Following the huge success of their comedy ‘Bridesmaids’, director Paul Feig and producer Judd Apatow were immediately given the green light by Universal to start working on a new film. While a ‘Bridesmaids’ sequel is in the works, so is another film starring the scene-stealing Melissa McCarthy and Jon Hamm.

Deadline reports that Feig and Apatow are in the early stages of putting together a new comedy that would potentially star Jon Hamm and Melissa McCarthy as “unconventional lovers.” Deadline’s report pegs the plot as about a man who becomes obsessed with a woman, which while vague, would offer Hamm all sorts of avenues to show off the comedic skills that are finally coming to the forefront. Negotiations are in the early stages.

Hamm, as Kristen Wiig’s jerk semi-boyfriend, and McCarthy as her quirky yet no nonsense fellow bridesmaid, nearly stole the show from the writer/star in the May smash hit comedy. It was the biggest stage yet for their respective comedic talents; Hamm, who plays the very serious Don Draper on “Mad Men,” is a frequent guest host on “Saturday Night Live,” and had an arc as Tina Fey’s “in the bubble” boyfriend; McCarthy is one of two leads on the CBS sitcom “Mike & Molly.”

The new Feig/Apatow film would be each actor’s first big screen lead; Hamm has translated his small screen success to into supporting roles in films such as “Sucker Punch,” “The Town,” and “Howl,” while McCarthy, a “Gilmore Girls,” alum, has had roles in “Life As We Know It,” and “The Back-Up Plan.”

Hamm will also be expanded his career to behind the camera work, as he’s slated to direct the season five premiere of “Mad Men.”

As for Apatow, this is another semi-spinoff for the megastar director/producer; he’s also in the process of putting together a Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann-starring “Knocked Up” spinoff.

I am the biggest Judd Apatow fan, so I’ll see any movie he makes. “Bridesmaids’ is probably the funniest movie I’ve seen in years!

Almost five months after announcing their engagement, Jesse James and Kat Von D have decided to put a pause on their relationship, according to Life & Style. They report  that Jesse has confirmed the split to friends. “That’s what he’s telling pals,” an insider tells Life & Style. “He says there’s too much drama for him.”

Recently, the two have been taking to Twitter to air out their frustrations, and many believe their tweets have been directed at each other. “I guess I was trying to take too much from the world. Funny how things go from amazing to s–t in the blink of an eye,” Jesse tweeted on June 5. “I have no regrets,” Kat tweeted the same day. The duo were last spotted together side by side at Jesse’s book-signing event in LA on May 14.

The couple began dating in August 2010, less than two months after Jesse and Sandra Bullock divorced amid stories of his infidelities during their marriage. “2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend,” Jesse once said about Kat. “An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs.”
