Apparently Justin Bieber was attacked during a promotional event in New York yesterday afternoon. But today we learn it was “all just a misunderstanding.”

According to TMZ, a man, who has been identified as an undercover cop, created a stir during Justin Bieber’s promotional event in New York.

The undercover cop claimed he intervened with the crowd when the fans became too rowdy and Bieber’s security needed assistance.

Bieber reportedly suffered a minor injury and was left shaken when the undercover cop jumped over a barricade and knocked him to the ground.

Bieber was greeting fans outside the Manhattan landmark when the incident happened. He was ushered back inside the store, where the promotional event continued.

“I saw that guy going around, but I didn’t think anything about it, but all of a sudden he just jumped…Three guys were holding this guy back,” one witness told local station WABC.

Bieber reportedly went back into Macy’s for a meet and greet with 300 fans after the incident.

“I didn’t think this would happen. We were just curious, but that’s terrible,” another witness told the ABC affiliate.

Sources confirm to TMZ that the original ‘Jersey Shore’ cast will be recast after Season 5 ends!

Although some big wigs on the show denied it last week, we’re told MTV wants a fresh cast of characters after they wrap Season 5 — which begins shooting in New Jersey Monday.

Here’s the thing. MTV gets the best of both worlds. They can keep the “Jersey Shore” machine going by growing a new crop of much cheaper stars. And, as for the break-outs in the original cast — including The Situation, Snooki, JWOWW and Pauly D … the network has already signed them to spinoffs.

Jennifer Aniston leaves a taping of ‘Inside the Actor’s Studio’ in New York City. Boyfriend Justin Theroux is spotted with her inside but leaves separately on his motorcycle to meet at her hotel.

What’s that on her ring finger? Why that’s the matching ring she and Justin are wearing. His ring says “Jennifer” but I can’t quite make out what hers says. Methinks it says “Justin”.

Are Amanda Seyfried and Dominic Cooper giving love another shot?

The couple, who ended their on-and-off relationship in May of 2010, were photographed together in Los Angeles on Monday.

Seyfried, 25, opened up about their breakup in the April issue of Elle, saying she “foolishly” thought Cooper and his ex-girlfriend “were done and Dom and I were involved.”

“But we weren’t really as involved as I thought,” she said. “So I got my heart broken pretty hard.”

The couple had previously split but reunited, and “it took a long time for us to break up again,” Seyfried told the magazine.

The actress and Cooper, 33, met while filming the 2008 movie-musical “Mamma Mia.”

“[It is] one of the easiest things in the world,” Seyfried said of falling in love on a film set. “You’re both open. You’re put in a situation where you have to make out with each other. It’s easy for things to get carried away.”

The relationship was eventually challenged by the long distance that often separated them as they both went on to other projects.

Seyfried said she found it “really hard to open [herself] up to a new person” after the two called it quits for good.

But she eventually found a new love in Ryan Phillippe. The romance, which began just before Halloween last fall, reportedly petered out last month.

I hope they are back together. They made a very cute couple!
