All in the name of art! Actor James Franco has a new art project titled Rebel, honoring the movie Rebel Without a Cause, which is an exhibition at the Venise Biennale.

According to the Los Angeles Times, James pays homage to his late Deuces Wild co-star, Brad Renfro, by carving the actor’s name into his arm. Brad fell victim to a heroin overdose back in 2008 at the young age of 25. The actual carving is reportedly documented as a part of the exhibit.

Though there are other contributors to the exhibit, only James is said to have shed blood for the project.

Pop sensation Lady Gaga was spotted out in London, England today taking her guest editor job for the Metro newspaper very seriously as she was seen in more business look. Well, this is probably as “business” as Lady Gaga is going to get.

In the latest issue of Vogue, Pirates of the Caribbean actress and new mom Penelope Cruz speaks on motherhood, and her hopes to keep her almost 3½-month-old son out of the spotlight.

“I want my son — and my kids if I have more — to grow up in a way that is as anonymous as possible. The fact that his father [Javier Bardem] and I have chosen to do the work that we do, doesn’t give anybody the right to invade our privacy.”

She goes on to talk about the first moments of seeing her baby:

“Even if you have heard from all your friends and family, ‘This is what’s going to happen,’ until it happens to you, it’s hard to understand in your soul. From the first second, you feel so much love. It is a revolutionary experience. It transforms you completely, in a second.[...]Nature is very wise and gives you nine months to prepare, but in that moment — when you see that face, you are transformed forever.”

Even with a newborn, she is determined to continue her global charity work with other entertainers such as Sean Penn and Bono, saying:

“Even if you were aware of children and felt compassion, when you have your own, it multiplies. It breaks your heart to know that there are so many children in the world suffering so much.”

Katie Holmes was spotted poolside in Miami today, spending some time with her mini-mi, Suri. Though papa Tom Cruise wasn’t on the scene, the mommy-daughter duo enjoy a few swimming lesson while Suri seemed to have fun hamming it up for the photogs.

On the difficulty dating men in the film industry:
“I’m sorry, I need to go away for three months and kiss other men while you stay here.”

On trying therapy:
“I was traveling so much, and I just needed to make sure I was grounded and had someone to talk to. She talked more than I did, which was hilarious and great and fun. I really like her. It was like having a girlfriend. But I’m not going to give her $300 an hour to have the same conversation I could have with my girlfriend.”

On her diet:
“I have never dieted. I just listen to whatever my body craves. I don’t deny myself anything. I don’t crave sweets or unhealthy things very often. But when I do, like if I’m in a bad mood and I’m in traffic, I’ll stop at McDonald’s and get a strawberry shake and fries and not feel guilty at all, because I deserve it.”
